Recapture the magic of the season at holiday markets in three countries. Cruise the Rhine and Mosel Rivers, enjoying a customizable journey with a choice of included excursions in many ports of call. Begin in Germany, then discover historic Strasbourg, France. Cruise to Speyer—gateway to Heidelberg—before exploring ancient Worms. Visit the village of Rüdesheim, then sail through the romantic Rhine Valley to Koblenz at the confluence of the Rhine and Mosel Rivers. Continue to Cochem, Trier and Bernkastel, the “Pearl of Mosel.” Travel by train to Luxembourg before concluding with a three night stay in Paris.
Day 1 | In Transit
Depart for Frankfurt, Germany
Day 2 | Frankfurt, Germany & Speyer
Upon arrival, transfer to the pier in Speyer and embark the MS Amadeus Silver. Later, enjoy a Welcome Reception and Dinner featuring regional wines.
Day 3 | Speyer
Personalize Cruise: Choose from two included excursions in this port.
Excursion: Romantic Heidelberg | Visit the castle overlooking the Neckar River. See the university, Germany's oldest institution of higher learning; the town hall; the market square; and the Ritter.
Excursion: Mobile Manheim | Explore Mannheim, a town famed for its industrious spirit, where Karl Benz produced his first two-stroke automotive engine in the 1870s.
Spend the remainder of the day discovering Speyer. Stroll along Maximilianstrasse, the town's main street and admire the sights, including the impressive Romanesque cathedral on the way to the holiday market.
Day 4 | Mainz & Rüdesheim
Located in Germany's largest wine-growing region, Mainz is considered the country's wine capital. Delight in its lovely, colorful architecture and quaint shops on a walking tour. Marvelat the majestic Mainz Cathedral with its six towers soaring above the landscape. Then take in the festive ambience of its holiday market. In the afternoon, cruise to Rüdesheim before exploring its holiday market in the evening.
Day 5 | Rhine Gorge, Koblenz & Cologne
Sale through the beautiful Rhine Gorge en route to the Mosel River and Koblenz, and pass Loreley Rock. After the ship docks in Koblenz, journey on a picturesque drive to Cologne, Germany's oldest major city. Contemplate the grandeur of its awe-inspiring Gothic cathedral during a walking tour of the old town. Then stop at the brightly adorned holiday market stalls situated just outside the cathedral.
Day 6 | Koblenz
Enjoy a walking tour and see the town hall's fountain; the Church of Our Lady, with a Gothic choir and baroque towers; the Old Castle; and the Old Merchant's Hall. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Koblenz and its holiday market.
Day 7 | Cochem
Explore medieval Cochem, situated on the Mosel River. Its charm is enhanced by Reichsburg Castle on a nearby hilltop. Enjoy a guided walking tour, followed by leisure time.
Day 8 | Bernkastel & Trier
Once an outlying capital city of the Roman Empire, Trier boasts a trove of ruins. See the Porta Nigra and visit imperial baths and a palace built by Constaintine. See the Cathedral of St. Peter and Church of Our Lady before heading to Bernkastel. Explore this 700-year-old town, famous for its pretty market square. Spend the afternoon doing any last-minute shopping at Bernkastel's market before gathering on the ship in the evening for a Farewell Reception and Dinner.
Day 9 | Luxembourg & Paris
In the morning, disembark the ship in Bernkastel and admire the German countryside while on a scenic drive to Luxembourg. In Luxembourg stroll through the Place d'Armes, which is transformed every December into a traditional holiday market. Afterwards, continue to Paris by TGV train and check-in to the Paris Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel.
Day 10 | Paris
Spend the morning pursuing individual interests or participate in the optional excursion to Versailles. Afterwards, travel along elegant boulevards to see the city's acclaimed landmarks.
Day 11 | Paris
Spend the majority of the day at leisure. Explore the impressive art collections at the renowned Louvre or the Musée d'Orsay. Later, enjoy some of Paris' most iconic sights, including the Grand Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral, from the Seine and see many of the magnificent bridges that span the river. In the evening enjoy a Farewell Reception.
Day 12 | In Transit
After breakfast, transfer to the Paris airport for the return flight to your gateway city.
