Since the day it opened its doors to those seeking respite in the mile-high mountain oasis, the inn has been a sought-after retreat for travelers desiring attentive service in a charming and laid-back environment.  While the exterior was changed to a more sensible brick construction, the interior exudes the warmth and cheer of the romantic southwest.  Hand-painted ceiling beams, dramatic wall murals, rich glazed tiling, elaborate etched and stained glass doors and windows all combine to create an environment that is both warm and inviting.

Hassayampa is a Yavapai word meaning "river that runs upside down." The Hassayampa River runs mostly underground.
