The River Street Inn is centrally situated at the beginning of Savannah's Historic Landmark District--the country's largest National Register urban historic district--and attaches to the Savannah Cotton Exchange. The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is within 18 miles. The inn is within easy walking distance of numerous downtown attractions, shopping, river cruise departures and several historic attractions including St. John's Cathedral, DAR Cemetery, Juliette Gordon Low House, the famous squares of Savannah and Mercer House of In The Garden of Good and Evil  fame.

Tybee Beach is 12 miles away, and the famed Hilton Head golf course is 35 miles north. A number of other attractions, including the Owens-Thomas House, City Market, Beach Institute, Forsythe Park, Telfair Museum and the Savannah History Museum, are all within a 1-mile radius of the inn.

Shopping

Exit the River Street Side of the hotel and enjoy the many shops on River Street Plaza. Many antique shops are within easy walking distance. Walk another five blocks to the City Market for additional shopping.

Driving Directions

From Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport: Take Interstate 95 South, to exit 99-A, which puts you on Interstate 16 East to Savannah.  Interstate 16 East ends at a traffic light in downtown Savannah at Exit 167B. Immediately move to the left-most lane and turn left at that light (Liberty Street). Turn right at the next traffic light (Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.). After the 3rd traffic light, turn right onto Bay Street. Continue through 4 traffic lights and just past the 4th traffic light at Drayton Street, River Street Inn's loading and unloading parking area is on your left.
