With the completion of a $10 million renovation in 2004, the Sheraton Read House is again poised to offer the fine level of service envisioned by the Read family over a century ago.  The hotel’s roots run deep in the community and the recent refurbishment has restored it to its place of prominence.  The charm of yesterday is alive and well and the true spirit of Southern hospitality shines again at the Sheraton Read House.  As the hotel has flourished, so has Chattanooga’s revitalized downtown city center, with a multitude of restaurants and shops and the Chattanooga Convention Center. 

The original Crutchfield House survived the Civil War, only to burn to the ground in 1867.
