The Cliff House at Pikes Peak sits on the outskirts of Colorado Springs in the small town of Manitou Springs at the foot of one of the Rocky Mountains’ most well-known 14,000-foot peaks. The tower of Victorian building—the second-oldest hotel in the state—rises distinctively from the main structure, echoing the dizzying peaks of the surrounding Rocky Mountains.
In its first incarnation, it served as a boarding house and stagecoach stop, then catered to miners and businessmen and health enthusiasts drawn by the region’s curative mineral springs. The past remains in the inn’s atmosphere, while a ten million dollar restoration installed oil landscapes of Colorado’s most distinct geological features in the dining room and has elevated the Cliff House to a full 55 guestrooms. Seventeen celebrity-themed suites are named after some of the famous guest that have rested their heads here over the last 130 years, including Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, the teepee-style Wild West Bill Cody Suite and the Old Hollywood glamour of the Clark Gable Suite.
Most rooms offer expansive views of Pikes Peak and the Rockies—a staggering sight to behold, whether draped in freshly fallen snow or carpeted in spring wildflowers. 1874 Single/Double: $145.00 to $199.00
