The Inn at Montchanin Village
   Montchanin, Delaware

The Inn at Montchanin Village offers much more than simple accommodation in Delaware's Brandywine Valley; the inn is, in reality, a restored 19th-century hamlet with 28 guest rooms spread across 11 carefully restored buildings accessible via a maze of ornate gardens. Every room boasts period and reproduction furniture and marble baths, and many have private, professionally landscaped gardens and gas fireplaces--an ideal setting for a quiet retreat with friends, family or solo respite.

The inn's renowned Krazy Kat's Restaurant--once the village blacksmith shop--is known as much for its creative cuisine as its whimsical decor, which features tiger-print chairs and portraits of military-garbed felines. Whether you stay on site, or venture into the natural splendor of the surrounding valley, the Inn at Montchanin Village will offer you the solitude you crave, a sense of history that inspires and a locale you'll never forget.

The village was named for Alexandrine de Montchanin, grandmother of the founder of the DuPont Gunpowder Company.
