Historian David Cohn once wrote, “The Mississippi Delta begins in the lobby of The Peabody Hotel… If you stand near its fountain in the middle of the lobby… ultimately you will see everybody who is anybody in the Delta…” Truly, in the minds of many, The Peabody is Memphis. Despite closing its doors twice, the hotel is a community institution, where celebrities, tourists, socialites and business travelers mix and mingle with ease. The Peabody Memorabilia Room honors the rich heritage of the hotel and the city and is filled with historic artifacts such as old menus, news clippings and photographs donated by guests and friends of The Peabody.

The world famous March of The Peabody Ducks takes place daily at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. with great fanfare. The Peabody Ducks are celebrities in their own right, living in grand style in their rooftop Royal Duck Palace and arriving via a red carpet to the tune of John Phillip Sousa's "King Cotton March." Memphis is the Blues City and The Peabody is located just a few blocks from Beale Street, the Gibson Guitar Factory and Rock N Soul Museum. Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, is approximately 15 minutes from The Peabody.

The Peabod's marching ducks are national celebrities, having appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and on Sesame Street.
