  • Charming Hotel

    by Kelvin C on 2017-12-09 03:01 pm

I stayed here for one night last week as I was in Baltimore for work. The hotel room is spacious and charming. This hotel is definitely not for everybody, but it is located in a nice and safe neighborhood, and conveniently adjacent to the trendy the Sagamore Pendry. Not much to see at night in the area, but there are plenty of bars and some restaurants nearby that are walking distance.

A pub across the street has live band performance which may be a bit loud at night if you're by the room facing the water side. So you may want to consider the rooms facing the town square.

  • Fantastic location and excellent service!

    by jaybee137 on 2017-12-07 02:33 am

Perfectly located for a Baltimore staycation, the AFI never fails to exceed my expectations. The hotel is within walking distance of many bars, restaurants, and shops, and is close to the promenade, where one might take in harbor views or go for a quick jog. The service is always top-notch- the front desk is always up for a chat and even has treats for my dog on hand! Everyone is personable and pleasant, and I never feel forgotten during my time here. Steve, the bartender in the tavern, is fantastic. He makes the best Moscow mules in town! If you're looking for an experience with that extra touch, I highly recommend visiting the folks at AFI.

  • In Desperate Need Of A Good Cleaning

by JenStose on 2017-12-06 01:48 pm

We picked Admiral Fell Inn for our stay in Baltimore mainly because of the positive reviews and that it was dog friendly. I am originally from Baltimore so I knew the area and knew that it was a historic hotel so we were excited for our stay. Upon entering the room I was disappointed at the cramped space, not a huge deal but not a great first impression. That was only the first of many disappointing issues. I understand that the hotel is OLD, but as far as I'm concerned there is no excuse for poor maintenance and lack of cleanliness. The walls had multiple large gashes in them with paint chipped off, the draperies were beyond filthy, and our pillow case and our comforter had visible stains on them. YUCK!! Moving on to the bathroom. Small is an understatement. The door had to be forcibly pushed to get it to close and then needed quite a bit of force to then open it, and if anyone was sleeping at that time, well, they were no longer. The tub/shower area was stained and just overall dirty looking. Both bath towels had holes in them and were fraying. We weren't in the room much but it's nice to be able to watch tv at night before bed and that definitely needs an update. Low def and small, with just basic cable. I realize that the price is very reasonable but having said that they need to do some much needed cleaning, replacement of linens, towels and draperies and overall repairs. The one thing that I was pleased with was the service. Everyone we encountered during our stay were extremely pleasant and accommodating. I would say this is a very minimalist hotel experience that I wouldn't book again unless some serious renovations took place. One last point, our room looked NOTHING like the picture they use for advertising.

    Dear JenStose,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience at here at The Admiral Fell Inn. I would like to take the time to apologize on behalf of our entire team for failing to meet your expectations. It is always our intention to exceed the expectations of all of our guests and I am very sorry to hear that your return trip was less than satisfactory. As a historic hotel, we are sometimes met with challenges, but there are no challenges that we aren't willing to work hard to overcome. It is sad to hear that you were not thrilled with the room amenities and condition. We will use your feedback to ensure that this does not happen again. We certainly hope that you will visit us in the future so that we can provide you with a superior experience.

  • Charming Historical Inn

    by Jillybean1947 on 2017-12-06 10:26 am

We stayed at The Admiral Fell Inn so we could take in all the great Christmas events in Fells Point the first weekend in December. It was right in the middle of all the activities, including the egg nog contest and the lighted boat parade. Rooms were comfortable, clean and charming. Breakfast was outstanding.

  • Saw no ghosts

    by Barbara W on 2017-12-05 11:40 am

Love this old hotel, even if reputed to be haunted. Spent a wonderful night on the fourth floor in a neat attic room. The view was the harbor partly and the street below. It was clean and great linens on the bed. Short walking distance to several historic bars with live music and great eating places. Water taxi to Baltimore Inner Harbor just a few steps away.
