Overview

The Alpenhof Lodge opened in December 1965 as the first hotel in Teton Village, Wyoming. The hotel was built by Dietrich Obereit, a Swiss engineer, and his German wife, Anneliese. Here in the shadow of the Tetons and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the Obereit family managed a European-style hotel.

Purchased by Edward Cunningham in 1988, the Alpenhof maintains its striking Swiss architecture, cozy ambiance, and European menu. As Teton Village has grown up around the Alpenhof, it has remained the focal point of Teton Village. The Alpenhof Lodge was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

The Alpenhof Lodge has hosted skiers, hikers, mountaineers, and sightseers with its friendly ambiance and excellent European cuisine. The 42-room Alpenhof features on-site dining at its Bistro restaurant, an outdoor pool, outdoor hot tub, sauna, and meeting and event spaces.

Alpenhof Lodge, a member of Historic Hotels of America since 2017, dates back to 1965.
