  • Almost in the Alps

    by kurtt225 on 2017-12-02 12:23 am

Primo location for Jackson Hole base activities, particularly close proximity to the Tram base (~80ft away), so an ideal location. Accommodations are quiet and Gasthaus-like for travelers (which is to say a touch of professional but comfortable homey-ness). Breakfast also is European-style, which is to say buffet with various selections (eggs, bacon, based potatoes, yogurt, excellent bread and 2 very good preserves, cheeses, pastries, cereals). Quiet alpine music in background. If they didn't have Cholula sauce and ketchup out, could be confused to think you were in the Alps. Other's comments re. a bit dated are correct, but doesn't seem to be important as things were functional.

  • Felt like being in Europe with excellent staff, amazingly prompt service.

This met/exceeded our expectations. Ate in the restaurant several times, which we never do. Schnitzel, fondue, desserts, breakfast, all great. Fresh baked cookies in lobby after dinner. Service: you ask for it and it is done in minutes! TV we had a small issue, someone came in 10 minutes. Asked if the hot tub was functioning, yes of course, they uncovered it literally in 2 minutes! Recommendations into Jackson Hole were spot on. Next to tram which is great, but very expensive for just a sightseeing ride. My husband literally said he felt like we were in Europe, which we travel to frequently.

  • Nice quaint old world styled lodge.

Room was comfortable and clean. Staff friendly. We stayed here once before. Great European style breakfast (breads, deli meat, pastries, fruit, hot items) included. Best price in the Teton area. Quick access to Moose Wilson Road.

  • Fondue is in order here.

This was our second visit to the Alpenhof Lodge. We have not stayed here, but have had dinner here twice and both times we had their fondue. Their fondue is excellent served with bread and apple slices and a nice bottle of "Sound of Music" white wine. Perfect accompaniment. It is so nice to know you can return to a restaurant some 5 years later and find the same high quality food. We had the cheese fondue which was excellent. There are others offered.

  • Quaint Hotel

by LLFletcher on 2017-10-02 03:50 pm

Only stayed one night but this was a very comfortable hotel. It has that old world charm. We had to change dates at the last minute due to hurricane Irma and they were very accommodating. There are 5 steps up to the elevator but they offered to help us with our bags. Every one was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a variety of food. They had traditional American breakfast of eggs and bacon along with the European style of meats and cheese with French bread. Fresh fruit and assorted pastries that were very good along with cereal was also provided.
