Benbow Inn

Overview
When the Redwood Highway was being constructed in the 1920s one of the first hotels to accommodate travelers on the new highway was the Benbow Inn. Opened in 1926, Hotel Benbow was considered the place to visit offering a combination of seclusion and elegant hospitality for San Francisco travelers and the Hollywood elite.
The historic Benbow Inn is located in Southern Humboldt County, 200 miles north of San Francisco on Highway 101. A short 3.5 hour drive will bring guests right to the hotel's doorstep at the Benbow Exit, #636. A recent $600,000 restoration of all guestrooms and hallways including carpets, draperies, wall coverings, bedding, flat screen televisions, and much more has kept the Benbow up-to-date.
Complimentary in-room coffee, tea, and crème sherry are in each guestroom, and each day between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. guests enjoy complimentary tea and scones served in the lobby. The Inn’s cocktail lounge is the gathering place for guests with a beautiful fireplace as the centerpiece. Since the beginning, the Inn has received rave reviews from guests and travelers for both food and service. The Tudor style dining room serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the year. The Inn’s restaurant has received the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence for its extensive wine list for over 15 years.
Seasonal swimming pool, Jacuzzi, and Splash Park are available for guest use, located at the golf course and RV Park. The 9-hole, 35 par executive golf course offers a challenge for the best of golfers and spectacular views of the Benbow Valley.
Benbow Inn, a member of Historic Hotels of America since 2014, dates back to 1926.
The property was built by the Benbow family - 9 talented brothers and sisters who also constructed the Benbow Dam, Power Company, and later, the golf course and RV park.
