  • New home in New Orleans

    by David C on 2017-09-13 01:20 pm

Fabulous place in the French quarter to relax! Not surrounded by bars or noisy restaurants. Service and friendliness of staff is wonderful. They provided us a wonderful one bedroom suite even though we booked a junior. Wonderful continental breakfast, everything fresh even fresh squeezed juice!
The Bienville House will be our home away from home from now on when visiting New Orleans.

  • Greatest view of the city, 24 hours a day

    by EdZ879 on 2017-08-09 01:07 pm

Deciding on a whim to visit New Orleans for dinner, the Bienville House was the perfect base. We were able to secure the room right above the entrance with the fabulous balcony and a perfect box seat in the city that truly never sleeps. The brunch, the staff, the ability to negotiate a few extra hours of room time before departure, made the stay a spiritual exercise in Southern hospitality

  • Excellent hotel

by DawnClacton on 2017-07-03 01:55 pm

We stayed here for five nights just before they closed for a refurb, the rooms were lovely, very comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is located in the French quarter in a very good location, just a few minutes walk to the many bars and restaurants and less than 10 minutes walk from Bourbon Street. Would definitely recommend this hotel for both accommodation and location.

  • French Quarter Gem

I am truly hesitant to review this hotel as I loved it so very much I don't want it to be any more popular then it is. However, I must give credit to an amazing hotel from the decoration to the staff it was all exceptional! We stayed in room 350 which is large and although we didn't have a balcony we did have a view of the Mississippi River (and a parking lot). Continental breakfast included coffee, cerral, bagels, pateries and hard boiled eggs. Their courtyard and pool area is truly beautiful! Not only is the property amazing but the location is great as well. We were able to walk everywhere with ease and its only 1 block from a streetcar stop. This was our first visit to NOLA and I will definitely be back to Bienville House. (Renovations start this June, I hope they don't change much. I love this hotel)

  • Memorial weekend stay

by MaddyClare on 2017-05-30 06:49 am

Stayed here for a long Memorial day weekend. We had a room on the second floor with a balcony over the courtyard. The hotel is located on a nice quiet street with several restaurant and bars. Our favorite was the espresso cafe next door.

The hotel is old - there's no way around it. And what I mean by old is needs updating. While it is also historically old, that is overshadowed by the need for updating and better maintenance of the property. The elevator smelled like it was burning half the time. My husband, who is a firefighter, didn't want to use it because he was worried we may get stuck in it. Let me say - if this place was updated it would be amazing. The architecture and history is obviously special and it would shine if given a chance. It is definitely a 3 star hotel - being sister property to the Monteleone I hoped for more but you pay for what you get.
Breakfast is very basic as others have said. It is stated as a continental so this should be no surprise.
They do offer valet parking ($40+tax) which is nice, although getting our car back took 30 min but they were pretty busy.
Firehouse across the street wasn't really an issue. You heard the train and boat horns more than the fire engines.
