  • Stunning Beach/ Great Location & Super friendly Staff

    by Maria F on 2017-09-14 11:47 am

I give Casa Faena a 5 star not because it has the amenities and glamour of a 5 star hotel but because the staff gave us a 5+ star class experience. This is a very small Boutique Hotel and the staff make you feel as if you were at home. ALL THE STAFF made us feel welcome and attended to our smallest but fuzzy request and they did it with a smile. We arrived at 6AM so the lobby did not have any champagne available being so early. When I asked about this the staff told us they would be bringing it to our dinner and we had complimentary champagne that night with our meal. The Food at Lunch and Dinner is AMAZING! If you want great food and affordable prices then you must eat at the Hotel's Restaurant. We ordered Bone Marrow Tacos, Ceviche, the Steak and the Burger, the BLT and each one was just as delicious as the other. BTW, this restaurant serves what I now know to be the BEST FRENCH FRIES in the WORLD. We were told that we could also eat at the Restaurants in their "cousin hotel" named FAENA located across the street, so we tried it for lunch and ended up paying $220 US Dollars for a simple meal for 4 without any drinks, the food was okay but we all agreed the food at Casa Faena was much better and the price was too good to be true. However, None of us however were ever happy with the breakfast at casa faena, if possible have breakfast elsewhere but please do try lunch and dinner there as the chef is a different chef from the breakfast. The location was great, we walked to a mini supermarket two blocks away, basking & robbins, and other restaurants nearby. The only con is the fact that they do not have microwaves in the rooms if you do have leftovers that you brought to your room. The Best beds I have ever slept in are at Casa Faena. Our party of 4 slept liked we never slept before. Both Mattresses and Pillows were super comfy and the rooms are very quite. Overall we loved staying at Casa Faena and are grateful to the staff that made out stay a wonderful one!

  • Our annual anniversary trip wasn't as dazzling... although we still love Casa.

by daysiees on 2017-09-09 12:53 am

The hotel formerly known as Casa Claridge is our Miami Beach home away from home. My husband and I have come here for every anniversary -- including this one -- and really fell in love with it.

The things we enjoy the most are the personable service, the restaurant/bar and the contemporary art / Spanish fused decor.

This year we did notice that while the service, while still good, wasn't as attentive as it had been in previous years. My gut feeling is they may just be busier. We always were made to feel special in years past (bartenders, front desk workers remembering our names/that it was our anniversary/that we come here every year) and this year we felt more or less like just another guest. I guess we've been spoiled by previous years of a special something in our room to celebrate our anniversary.

We also noted that the funky art has been scaled down. The elevator was the same as last year's "work of art" although falling apart and needed to be updated. The beautiful paper hanging in the lobby was removed, although it's still beautiful I do wish for a few unexpected artistic touches. It seemed they were repainting the restaurant and remodeling so I'm sure they are continuing to improve the hotel, I just hope they don't end up sterilizing the out-of-the-box spunk that made us love Casa Claridge / Faena in the first place....

That being said, we really enjoyed the coffee and food in the restaurant, the smiling service workers and of course the location in midbeach (we pop over to the beach and take advantage of Faena's chairs every year). Always a pleasant interaction! We also always take advantage of the rooftop balcony and rarely see anyone up there.

In sum, we're not breaking up with Casa Faena but I hope it continues to dazzle us like previous visits.

  • 2nd Miami Trip

    by Danyelle G on 2017-09-06 04:02 am

This was out 2nd time in Miami but our 1st time staying near the beach. We arrived Friday night and had the most memorable greeting I've ever experienced by Armando. He offered us sparkling wine, in which my boyfriend spent the rest of the trip trying to find lol. He escorted us to the elevator, pressed our floor number for us and even waited until the doors closed. Our stay was marvelous! We had an ocean view room. Very simple and cute. The only cons- Friday night we heard drilling at about 4 or 5am and this was the only night and there isn't a microwave or refrigerator in the room. There's a fridge but it is filled with liquor that I wouldn't suggest opening unless you want to pay a pretty penny to replace it lol. Other than those 3 things, we enjoyed our stay at the Casa Faena ?

  • "Hidden Gem"

    by Cyndi C on 2017-08-30 08:20 am

Casa Faena is a quaint, peaceful, charming hidden gem on Collins Ave. Away from the crowds (but not too far) and across from beach, this intimate hotel is perfect. We only spent the night but enjoyed our way stay immensely and cannot wait to return soon for a longer one.
We were visiting Miami to attend Coldplay concert...we arrived really late to check-in. We were greeted warmly by Alejandro. He checked us in promptly, as he cld tell we were exhausted, and answered all our questions. As it was late and everything closed, he was helpful and making us feel comfortable. Within minutes we went to our room...Our room was adorable and had an old charm feel...very clean and cozy! The next morning we went up to roof deck where there are lounging chairs and tables and overlooking the city. It was so peaceful, We relaxed and got some sun before checking out. We thoroughly enjoyed our quick stay and will definitely be back! Highly recommend if you are looking for an intimate and relaxing getaway.

  • Back in time!

    by Marie L on 2017-08-23 08:34 am

If you are looking for a hotel that is comfortable and boutique Casa Faena is it! We arrived early on a Friday and had no problem checking in early. Great! enough time to get in our suits and hit the beach! Check in was wonderful, different. No counter, just a person sitting at a writing desk. Very nice. Hotel was so pretty inside. It felt like you were visiting someone's home. Very comfortable, very spanish, very romantic. I enjoyed the architecture. No modern facilities here, but then again you can have that anywhere else. Every now and then nice to detached. The room was very pretty. The room was decorated to go along with the whole spanish flair. A couple of things to note. We had no ice bucket in the room and the hotel does not have a ice machine. I think the hotel should look into that. You offer a nice selection of drinks to purchase, however, if no bucket to get ice how do i have my cuba libre? you can go downstairs to the bar and they will accomadate you with ice in a cup or a baggie... but the ease of having it in the room is easier. Otherwise the room was comfortable and the bathroom was quaint and had enough towel. Another thing to note, not sure if they have a pool. We did not see one, we inquired and were told they have one but it is small so it is closed. We venture through the whole hotel - because i travel and enjoy doing these write ups to inform others after me and did not see a pool. The hotel does have a rooftop terrace with plenty of comfortable sitting. Do go up with a drink or a bottle of wine, we did and enjoy the sun, warmth and smell of the ocean. The hotel is not on the beach, but its a short walk across the street. Location was good, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough that we walked all the way down to Art Deco area and back and enjoy the walk down enjoying the view, stores, other locations. If you choose not to walk, no worries Citi Bikes station is right across the street. We did that on our second day, we rent the bikes and rode them down to Newscafe for breakfast and walked back to the hotel on the beach. Great work out. The Hotel has valet for $38.00 a day. There is a parking lot across the street, however, we found that a whole day would cost $36.00 a day BUT! you have to go to the meter every three hours and put in for three more hours, not worth the 3.00 savings. Valet the car, so much easier. Casa Faena provides beach chairs, Umbrella and towels at the beach at NO CHARGE. i was impressed. I've stayed at many hotels in Miami Beach, and can tell you that they charge a premium charge for that. Thank you Casa Faena, I appreciated the no cost and so pretty. Love the bright red colors of the umbrella with the tassels. Beach was great, warm and so pristine! During our stay we chose to attend a comedy show at the Faena. You will find Faena has many bldgs. around. The Faena we went to is across the street from Casa Faena. Faena is beautiful and the lobby was gorgeous. The room we watch the show was gorgeous. Casa Faena is located on 35th if you walk up to 40ish..... you will find restaurants and small grocery store that carries just about everything. Everyone at Casa Faena that we came in contact was just wonderful, everyone had a smile and a response. The bartenders during the day and the evening are really nice guys and very helpful. The bar area is nice and comfortable. It also has a nice patio on the side or you can sit in the front, plenty of sitting to take it all in. Again I enjoyed our stay, i look forward to going back and recommending Casa Faena!
