  • Casa Insomnia

    by Sarah M on 2018-03-18 12:20 am

Book here if you hate sleeping. When we arrived at 4pm, there was a loud party in the courtyard below our room that lasted several hours. Around 9pm, the patio above us turned into a very loud party. The bass was so loud that it shook all of the walls, rattled the paintings on the walls, and even the bed shook the bed. When I called the front desk they said "it's not too busy tonight, it'll probably only go until 1am", I think our walls stopped shaking around 2am.

Several partiers then returned to the room next to us, and they very loudly continued their party until we checked out at 11am.

For $150, we only got 2 hours of sleep. When we told the front desk at checkout, they responded with "Oh". We will NEVER stay here again, and I would discourage anyone that I am even remotely fond of to endure this horrible experience.

Besides that, there was no fridge or microwave, an iron but no ironing board, a broken Keurig, and a faucet that leaked nonstop. Silly me thought THAT was what would keep me up all night. We've gotten more sleep at a Holiday Inn next to an airport than at Casa Marina.

  • Bar with a few trashed hotel rooms

    by znew2n1 on 2018-03-04 04:34 am

    - Poorly maintained and dirty rooms
    - No hot water
    - Incompetent Staff
    - Music loud enough to rattle wall frames until 2AM.

This is a bar with a few trashed hotel rooms. I don't see how anyone staying in this hotel could possibly rate it above 1 or 2 stars. All of the decent reviews are for the restaurant or bar. Our room was not ready by the promised check in time and when we were finally allowed to check in, the young girl who helped us was clueless and extremely rude. The hotel room was grubby and poorly maintained. There was grime on the walls, rust on every metal surface, broken door louvers, broken door knobs... and the furniture didn't look to have been updated or cleaned in over a decade. The shower, which never fully shut off and ran constantly, only got lukewarm and never approached hot.
Even after such a poor first impression, we decided to give the place the benefit of the doubt and stay the night. However, at about 9PM, loud music was turned on above us and the walls and everything on them literally started to shake. We couldn't even hear the television at full volume for the noise.. It was unbelievable. When I called the front desk to ask what was going on, I was told that this happened every weekend until 2AM and that they got allot of complaints and that there was nothing the could do but give me a free brunch. Their comment was "they make allot of money so we can't ask them to turn it down." They also said that we should have been told before check-in that there would be loud music. We were not, not that this would have made any difference.
It is clear that management cares more for alcohol sales than customer comfort. After myself and my 6 month pregnant wife tried to sleep for several more hours, we finally gave up and checked out around 11pm. It was clear from the reaction of the front desk that this was a regular occurrence and they were completely indifferent to the total lack of service or quality present in this establishment. I would NEVER stay here again and would never recommend anyone else to. With competent management and some minor maintenance, this place could be great and that is the only reason it got a second star. Right now it is a $50/night hotel in a $200/night location.

  • Roof Top Lunch - nice atmosphere-needs TLC!

    by ShirleyD246 on 2018-02-14 08:43 am

My friend and I were excited to finally get to the Casa Marina for the rooftop lunch, we considered the Sunday Brunch but at $30 PLUS 27% service/gratuity PLUS tax - we decided to do that at a later date - we hear it is fantastic!! Our food was Great. Mimosa was Great, Ocean scene from rooftop Great, and the service was Great!! BUT when we went to find a restroom, it was clear that someone does not care how things look, there were broken chairs and window pane/glass on the rooftop out the window near the bathroom - who doesn't take care of their own place? Who throws trash on a roof? Is that attitude in the kitchen too? Oh, well, just my thoughts on what I observed. I may go back, just not sure.

  • Sunday Brunch

by FlipMV on 2018-01-30 02:58 am

What a perfect Sunday Brunch! Best buffet EVER. Every item I tried was excellent- so rare for a buffet! Bottomless mimosas INCLUDED!! Our servers were Cheria and Kevin, who were exceptional. SO attentive! My group has decided to make this a monthly event! We went for a walk on the beach (just outside) after brunch. Heaven!

  • Two Night Stay

    by acowen222 on 2018-01-18 011:17 pm

Upon checking in the location was beautiful & the lobby looked great. The check in desk was not very clean. The young lady had her food, & paper work all over the desk. My check out dates were wrong, but were corrected. I reserved a suite, but I was checked into a smaller room. The front desk girl said it was a better room than the suite. It was cozy enough.

Had dinner in their lounge which was great, followed by a few drinks. I called the front desk for more towels but, no answer. When I went downstairs she had ear buds in her ears so I see how she didn't hear the phone ringing. I managed to get her attention for the towel i needed, not very friendly though. The rest of the evening was fine.
