  • Getaway to Sleepy Hollow!

    by thomastW559CS on 2018-03-02 10:06 am

My wife and I stayed at the Castle Hotel and Spa while we visited Sleepy Hollow. I have to say it was one of the best hotels we have been to in a long time! Eddie and Peter were great and the spa was outstanding. We took a cab from the hotel into town ($11.00 one way) and ate at 2 excellent places. The first one was The Bridge View Tavern with a great view of the Tappan Zee bridge and the other was The Horseman.Put it in on your road trip bucket list and we're going back! "The Blaze" starts in October.

  • Beautiful Hotel & Spa -- Highly Recommended

The Castle Hotel & Spa was such a wonderful hotel and so close to Manhattan! I really enjoyed staying here during the week; it felt like a true vacation even though I was there for work. The attentive, friendly, and courteous staff were beyond helpful with anything I needed throughout my stay. The beds were the best part, I didn't want to leave to go to work the next day! I highly recommend staying in one of their luxurious suites (though I didn't stay in one of them, one of the front desk agents was kind enough to show me one) and having dinner in their restaurant, Equus. The food was delicious, whether it was room service, dinner, or breakfast (I'm sure lunch is just as good)!

Highly recommended for business, leisure, or any traveler!

  • Total rip-off!!! Stay away

    by maibe1daysoon on 2018-02-24 06:14 am

    1) Very loud heating/cooling unit, which kept blowing air very fast, into the room. This is not something I would expect nor did I ever experienced this in other 4-star hotels.
2)The staff is quite unfriendly and poorly trained. When we complained about the loud heating unit, they allegedly sent someone to check it (while we were out), and we were later told that they didn't find anything wrong with it. The tone was very condescending and we were told to call them right away if we hear the loud noise we claimed we did...What happen to just: 1) the client is always right? and, 2) fess up that they were cheap and purchased loud AMANA units, better fit in an industrial warehouse, not in a 4-star hotel.
3)Misadvertisement- the room is not even in the castle itself, it's on an annex building that's quite plain looking. No difference between this and a Holiday Inn...
4)Valet Parking- the attendants were nowhere to be found when we needed them. When they were around, they were quite unfriendly and one of them parked my car with the back tires pressed against the curb...
5)Spa- we went to look at it- seemed deserted. The clerk that was there hid herself behind a computer screen and never once acknowledged our presence. We would have liked to inquire (and possibly book) about their spa treatments, but when I saw this attitude, I realize it would not be a pleasant experience.
6)Equus Restaurant- overpriced, bland food, and again, bad service. Did I mention that it was almost empty? That should've told us everything.
Management should really take a better look at their hiring practices and train their staff better. Their are in the hospitality business, for goodness sake...It is unacceptable to pass by the front desk and the clerk to hide, glued to his phone, and did not even acknowledge us with a smile, let alone said good night, as we walked from dinner to our room. Moreover, at check-out we were not even asked how everything unprofessional! As if they knew we weren't happy, but they didn't want to hear it!

We were with 2 friends, ( there were 4 of us ).

Bluntly the night was a horror show. They missed giving us 3 of the 4 bottles of wine that we had paid for.

In addition, my wife had contacted the manager, whom at first seemed genuinely interested, and asked us to give them another chance.

When my wife emailed to make reservations, she never received a reply.

There are too many good restaurants in Westchester County, and certainly many who actually care about feedback.

  • Romantic and Impressive!

My husband and I decided to stay at The Castle instead of driving home after a concert we were attending in town. He knew my love of castles and romance, and we went ahead and booked a night. What a treat! Everyone from the vehicle attendants, to the Hotel desk staff, waiter, etc. were remarkably friendly and kind. We had an amazing lunch while waiting to check in. I highly recommend the Lobster Risotto and my husband loved the crab cake sandwich. The room was lovely! The bed was dressed in wonderfully scented sheets...subtle but nice...and wonderful pillows and duvet. The vanity area had bathrobes and slippers for us, along with nice shampoo and essentials. I loved the heat lamps overhead for keeping warm after your shower! When we came back in the evening, our bed was turned down and the drapes drawn closed. They left us little rugs next to the bed as well as chocolates. The little coffee maker in the room was great, and they even had my favorite...Earl Grey tea! They also supplied some beverages in the fridge, complimentary. Next time we stay, we will be sure to try dinner there. The menu looked fantastic but we had other plans that night so didn't try it. I look forward to another visit, and hope to try out their beautiful spa as well......
