  • One night visit

by srnwood on 2018-07-17 03:25 am

We stopped for one night during the summer on a month-long trip through the Northeast. Of course I had booked ahead making sure to have a room in the old part of the inn. Arriving at noon, sure we'd have to wait for check-in, I was dismayed when the clerk couldn't find our reservation. When I showed the confirmation, she immediately upgraded us for free: honeymoon suite.

Wonderful food and awesome service!! Enjoyed it so much we had to go back a couple days later. The chicken pot pie and the jambalaya were just amazing. The chicken scalloping was awesome and the beer was cold and good.

  • Fabulous Experence

Wonder old historic setting...short drive to Lexington, easy walk around Concord. Room was very nice and the food was absolutely fabulous. Had something different at each meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during our stay and each meal was delicious. Lawrence was an AWESOME bartender in the liberty room. He was very fun, interesting, and enjoyable to talk with and his drink mixes were spot on!!!

  • Great food in a historic setting

by InterstellarTCU on 2018-06-24 04:31 am

Our table mainly had seafood, cod, salmon (roasted as well as over a salad). Selection of wine and ales that suited all tastes.

Too full for dessert so no recommendations in that area.

    Definitely would return

  • Rundown rooms hide behind historic facade

The town of Concord has a storied place in American history, but that's no excuse for the dirty and worn-down decor at the Colonial Inn. Rooms are cheap and there's a reason -- the dust ruffle on my bed was stained and torn; hallway carpet was filthy and smelled sour; and the hallways connecting the antique part of the inn from drab 70s-era motel rooms were so confusing and badly lit, I hate to think what would happen to guests in an emergency.
Bathrooms have updated tile but old, stained bathtubs. Why upgrade at all if you're going to do it only halfway?

The little tavern and restaurant are adequate, but the whole place needs a major refresh. How about shades of cream and fresh colonial blue instead of the hideous mustard color with mud-brown accents in guest rooms? Fresh paint and new carpet could work wonders.
