  • Shoddy room

    by Roberta H on 2017-10-20 02:06 pm

We were extremely disappointed today when we checked in to find we had been bumped to the top floor in an ugly attic room with threadbare furnishings. I called to make the reservation over six months ago, and talked at length with them about the room. I was told we would be one flight up in a historic period room, windows overlooking the green at front of inn. This is absolutely the worst hotel room I've stayed in for years.
Ugly cheap furniture, worn out chairs, broken shade on the tiny window.
I told them I was completely dissatisfied with the room, and they were completely full, of course.
Don't waste your time or money here.

  • One week at The Colonial Inn

    by Lotte63buchert on 2017-10-16 02:46 pm

The rooms in the Prescott Wing are okay. The rooms and appartments that belongs to the hotel at other addreses are really bad and not worth the Price. Furthermore the staff is not very friendly especially not at the restaurant and the bar belonging to the hotel. The food is bad and expensive. I just stay there because there is no alternative and I go to Concord for work every two years.

  • Old New England Inn

This is very quaint and historic Inn in Concord, Ma. It is right down the road from the home of Louisa May Alcott. In fact on certain days the Inn has someone play her and comes around to the tables. Very entertaining. Food and drinks are very good. Service is impeccable. While you are dining at the Inn, you feel like you are back in colonial times. Must place to eat when in Concord Ma.

  • Great staff, a good stay

by BinkleyB on 2017-10-06 06:25 am

We stayed for two days in early October 2017, a room in the Prescott wing, which is the newer wing of the Inn. The Inn is a bit confusing, but one of the other guests got us from the parking lot to the front desk. There is some signage, but in one spot there isn't, so you feel like you might be lost. However, once you are there for a while, it makes sense. Our room was small, bathroom smaller, but great linens and towels, and good water pressure in the shower. The staff across the board is fantastic. We chose to have breakfast here two mornings (got a $20 credit in the restaurant for $10), and dinner one night at Merchant's Row. Very attentive wait staff, friendly, and accommodating. The front desk staff is great as well. Centrally located in Concord, close to Minute Man State Park. Easy access to highways, but out of the way, and quiet. We stayed in 308, back side of the hotel and out of the fray. We'd stay in that room again. Be aware that there is no elevator, so ask for a lower floor if you have mobility issues. Staff very helpful with luggage if you need it.

  • small room and stuffy

    by lsthomson5 on 2017-09-17 02:26 pm

Charming old inn but our room was small and stuffy. Service was excellent in the hotel and the restaurant but warning: chef doesn't toast the English muffins under his various eggs Benedict so they're a mushy mess under the poached eggs and not worth eating. I had remembered this from a year or two ago and asked the waitress to request a toasted muffin but the request wasn't granted and I didn't want to complain. The fried breakfast potatoes were yummy though.
