  • Almost Perfect

    by Donna M on 2017-12-08 04:45 pm

First, each staff-person was superb, helpful, and gracious.

Second, the rooms are stellar, and well-appointed.

But, we were unable to remain in the room for ANY length of time, other than sleeping. There was no ventilation. The 'Climate Control' system was not working, and our room remained a constant 76 degree temperature. It was positively horrid - especially for a woman having hot flashes every few hours.

We were grateful for a fan that was delivered by a staffer, who also said "Whoa. It is really hot in here."

Even our daughter who came to visit could not stay in the room more than ten minutes.

We were comped our breakfast, thankfully, but it was incredibly sad that we could not enjoy the room.

  • Great boutique hotel in Pasadena!

by Dimitrivaz on 2017-11-28 08:07 am

Picked this hotel based on TripAdvisor recommendations, and found it to be a pleasant stay in Pasadena. The location was close to my daughter's apartment, but a little ways away from Old Town, if that is your destination. The service was excellent, pets are welcome, but there is a $75 nonrefundable cleaning charge, which seems a little steep. The decor is somewhat funky, which is a welcome change from the cookie cutter chain hotels. We didn't sample any of the dining options, but the menus looked interesting. Our room was very comfortable, albeit a little cramped. It felt more like a European hotel room, but the fixtures were attractive, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a little problem with the AC, but the front desk sent up an engineer at 9pm, and they took care of it right away! No complaints at all.

  • Horrible customer service, non-refunded bank "hold", no parking....

    by Steve H on 2017-11-22 02:24 pm

I had really high hopes for this hotel. My wife and I stayed two nights during a quick stay in Los Angeles.

We arrive to find out there is no available parking for the hotel. You have to pay a valet($25/night) to park your car.

Next surprise, I check in and find out the hotel has to "hold" $250 for the duration of the stay. No reason was given for this, and I didn't know this ahead of time either. I have traveled in China, Singapore, Australia, Maldives, Korea etc and haven't come across this practice....EVER. But what can I do, I can't just leave and find another place. I allow the hold and head up to the room.

The room was very small for the cost, though very clean and professional. We ordered dinner through room service. $100 for two mediocre entrees. Another ding.

The traffic at night is very loud and the hotel doesn't really shield from it.

Other than that the stay was ok, nothing special. It's now almost two weeks later and guess what? The hold is still on my card. I've emailed the hotel a few times, and it's just "Oh just wait, it will be returned."

HORRIBLE HOTEL! One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had across several continents. All surface, no substance at all. Don't be fooled by the photos.

    You have been warned.

  • Just great all around, loved it!

    by Scott H on 2017-11-17 01:03 pm

We had such a great stay at the DusitD2 Hotel Constance for our business trip. We had two rooms, all of us were very happy. Super nice staff, just really helpful, clean rooms, clean lobby, fun piano bar with jazz pianists every night. Free shuttle to the convention center saved us a few bucks on Uber back and forth. I'd definitely recommend staying there for business. They were mid construction on an expansion and a pool, etc. We had no noise problems from construction. When the pools' done it will just be perfect. The fitness center is off site, but that didn't bother me, was a nice short jog to get there.

  • Clean, convenient and a great bar to boot

    by mzbecks07 on 2017-11-13 04:01 pm

Homemade cookies and spa water at check-in is always a good sign. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are quite clean and equipped with ample basics. There is ongoing construction right now plus the hotel is at a main thoroughfare so it can get a bit loud. Central location is a plus ( walking distance to Lake Avenue restaurants, cafe etc).
The lobby piano bar is the star of this hotel-delicious cocktails, good wine selection with tasty food so it is easy to see why it is popular with the local crowd.Valet parking available ( discounted with ticket validation).
