  • Beautiful setting but worn out hotel

    by Fran H on 2017-10-15 01:45 pm

This hotel is in a gorgeous setting and, if you are a golfer, the adjacent course looks like it will offer a very scenic round of golf. However, the hotel itself has seen far better days. We were given a dingy and dark room at the back, facing the kitchen, with old furniture and brown peeling wall paper. Exposed plumbing and cracked tile on the bathroom floor were unsighlty. Furthermore, the bed was extremely uncomfortable with a dip in the middle - and could have done with a good clean underneath. My husband and I were there to walk and explore the surrounding area but the hotel had no information merely directing us to a visitor center 25 minutes drive away. We found our own trails by looking on the internet. Some would call this hotel historic and quirky and may enjoy it for those reasons. However, we would not recommend it.

  • Quirky, old hotel with lots of charm

    by Dave B on 2017-10-14 02:04 pm

Eagle Mountain attracts groups. While we were there these included a coach party of seniors, a collection of Mercedes drivers and, of course, a number of golfers (this is a golf resort, after all). We had a large room, with sitting area on the third (top) floor, which was accessed either by a wide staircase, or by a wonderful old elevator, with double gate doors. The area around the hotel is beautiful (we visited for the Fall colours) and its a good base from which to explore.

  • Off to a bad start.

On arrival we discovered a wedding party had taken over the hotel. Consequently we were given a box room , very small , with no view and a low droning noise which continued all night. As well as that the wedding guests decided to whoop, holler and scream in the car park until one am. I had to ring the night porter to stop it.
I know weddings are a fun time but there are limits.
I asked the following morning if we could change rooms. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and we were given a room with a view which was a hundred times better.

    Hello Bazzalarkin,

Thank you for staying with us this fall. I am glad that we were able to upgrade you to a different room type than the one you reserved when you made your reservation. The team is very good at trying to make sure that we do whatever we can to make our guests comfortable.

We hope to see you in the future.

  • Loved the veranda

    by Christopher V on 2017-10-07 07:30 am

A quaint hotel in a beautiful setting. We loved sitting out on the veranda in the mornings and evenings. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and the food was very good. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay there again.

    Greetings,

The team and I are pleased that you enjoyed your recent stay at the Eagle Mountain House.

The 220 foot long veranda is a great place for relaxing or enjoying your favorite beverage from the Eagle Landing Tavern. If you visit us during the summer/early fall time period we serve lunch and dinner on the north end of the veranda.

Thank you for staying with us.

  • Yes. Keep reading..

    by Phil R on 2017-10-05 04:56 am

First impressions are old, tired and in need of renivation. And while all of thrse things are true, once you get the feel of the place; and you do quickly, none of that matters.

It's utterly charming, well cared for and very clean and tidy.

We loved it. Would absolutely stay again and for longer.

    Hello Phil R,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Eagle Mountain House, built in 1916 and still going strong we are constantly trying to refresh and improve.

This spring we finished a complete restore of our 220' long veranda, one of our guests favorite places. Other upgrades are in the works, but we will always be vigilant to never change the character and charm of the hotel.

We hope to see you soon,

    Craig Boyer
