  • Wonderful experience

The hotel was beautiful and it's history is palpable! Staff was attentive and professional. All of the Room service menu options I chose were delicious, but expensive. The location was perfect! Close to starbucks, CVS , dining/shopping. Hope to have the opportunity to come back to Boston and will definitely stay here again! Only complaint is the lack of closet/hangers for clothing.

Everything was lovely! We stayed in a king studio and it was plenty of space. All the staff we interacted with was extremely helpful. I love the dog in the lobby it was a great touch. The bathroom amenities smell great.

  • Magnificent History, Average Accomodations

As a historic building, they get 5 stars. As a 5 Star rated hotel, not so much. I understand it's an old building but more could be done with the mattresses and pillows. Hard mattress, flat pillows. It was not a comfortable rest. On top of that, just couldn't cool the room down. It was cold outside but so warm inside it was smothering. Front desk, room service and concierge were excellent and friendly.

  • Historical Elegance in the hub of activity and sights.

As most guests have probably commented, the beauty of this hotel is stunning. The clouds in the sky painting on the lobby ceiling feels like a window to the outdoors. We even had the opportunity to pet the resident dog, that can't get enough love from the guests. He's on a leash, so he isn't rambling around everywhere. Staff at check in were extremely mannerly and kind. Our room was located on the concierge floor. It was spacious and very accommodating. One has to know up front, that given the historical bones, the bathroom wasn't what you would expect for the upscale hotel and price. It was very tiny, and entered through two skinny couple wood doors, which didn't much privacy. Inside was a whimsical arrangement of t tiny sink and toilet crammed in to a tiny diagonal wall. There wasn't anywhere to put ones toiletry items, nor was there a vent fan. Taking a shower can fill up the room with moisture, which would probably be welcome in the winter months. Be sure to inquire about the bathroom in your booking, if this doesn't appeal to you. Perhaps they have other layouts. The location of the hotel was perfect for our 2 night, 1 1/2 day stay. The concierge arranged our Hop On, Hop Off tour, (highly recommend), we walked the Freedom Trail, took the Architecture Tour at the Public Library (gorgeous!), and an organ performance at the nearby Episcopal Church, which was open to the public. We also enjoyed a green market on Fridays. Shopping and dining was in walking distance. We enjoyed a dinner at The Oak, the hotel's restaurant. Very nice. Would return here in a heartbeat.

  • Great location & comfortable rooms

Spent one night here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had a fun time in Boston and then enjoyed our night at the Fairmont. The staff was friendly. The hotel lobby is beautiful. We loved the historic feel It has. The room was nice and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and we had a nice city view. Would definitely stay here again.
