Gideon Putnam Resort & Spa

Activities & Events

Set in the middle of the 2,300-acre Saratoga Spa State Park at the southern end of the city of Saratoga Springs, the Gideon is surrounded by a beautiful 18-hole championship golf course, a challenging par three executive course, eight clay or Har-Tru tennis courts, and miles of walking, hiking and cross-country skiing trails.

The park's 1930s Lincoln and Roosevelt Bath Houses, which helped establish Saratoga Springs as a world-class spa town, are just minutes away on foot from the Gideon Putnam's front door. The Roosevelt Baths and Spa re-opened in the summer of 2004 as part of a multi-million dollar renovation project and features world-famous mineral baths as well as a complete menu of spa treatments.

Two outdoor pool complexes, the Victoria and the Peerless, are open during the summer months. The Peerless pool complex consists of a main pool with a zero-depth entry, separate slide pool with a 19-foot double slide and a children's wading pool with a mushroom fountain. The Victoria, opened in 1934 as the first heated public pool in the country, is a smaller pool surrounded by arched promenades. Both pool areas include showers, locker rooms and restrooms. The park's picnicking pavilions may be reserved for a fee.
