  • The entire staff was friendly and on top of everything.

Our room was rustic and comfortable. The only minor things that took away a little were the failure to mention the staircase, and the hills. If you have trouble walking it could be a challenge. We had a massage in the spa which was wonderful! I loved the big showers in the room, separate from the jacuzzi tub. The high ceilings and barn type rafters really gave it the country feeling. Perfect room to cozy up in with a fire place in the dead of winter. The pub was cozy and comfortable too, with a friendly inviting atmosphere and great staff. I also really enjoyed the french toast at breakfast.

  • Beautiful Inn- Worth it!

I am giving a rating of 5 because it is truly a wonderful place overall, but I did have some issues that I hope others don't have to experience.
I booked one night for a quick getaway from NYC. We drove from out of town early on the day we checked in. We arrived at 1pm and hoped we could potentially check in early (check in stated 3pm) so we could get settled and then enjoy the local wineries, and the common areas of the Inn itself before dinner and the end of the night. When we arrived there were no rooms ready for check in for the day. We booked a Packhouse suite. I was asked for my number and we were told that they would call us when our room was ready for check-in, probably an hour or two. After waiting 2 hours and not hearing anything and not knowing where to go or what to do, I called at 3pm and was told that there was now a water break in the Packhouse suites and all of the rooms were having to be switched around, making us still not able to check in or have anywhere to go. We were told it would probably be another hour and someone would call. Again no one called us to tell us our room was ready, and we sat in our car in below freezing weather, waiting for a room. After going back into the registration area now well after 5pm (over 4hrs since initial arrival), there was apparently confusion and miscommunication with the staff because the next person at the desk had no idea we had been waiting since 1pm for our room. At this now late evening time, getting checked in and to our room at now 6pm, the manager was very sincere and apologetic. We were offered a complementary drink each and a dessert.
Because the Packhouse suites were not available due to the water break in that building, we were assigned room 41, carriage sunset inn suite on the lower level.
ABOUT THE STAY...The room was very beautiful with a large king size bed, a bathroom with a standup rain shower, a gas fireplace, large flatscreen TV, a small sitting area, a mini fridge, coffee machine, and a Jacuzzi tub with bathrobes. The windows directly overlooked the pool area (the pool obviously was not in service as the area was covered in beautiful January winter snow). The room was extremely comfortable, quaint, cozy, and warm!
We were starving and tired at this point so we ate cheeseburgers at the pub, and received our complimentary drink and dessert. We know the reviews for dinner are very good, however it is very pricey and if you are a picky eater, it is hard to justify the price.
Breakfast the next morning in the main great room (which is included in the stay), was very very very good. We had the sausage and spinach omelette, and the eggs Benedict which were both very good! Recommend them both! Coffee, tea, yogurt, fruit...
It is nice that check out is at noon. One night stay is definitely not long enough at this beautiful Inn. The area has a lot to offer, as does this beautiful establishment for a very relaxing and wonderful time.
Despite the frustration and all of our lost hours of R&R which was the purpose for our trip, the staff was very sincere and apologetic and we were happy to accept...

We will absolutely return for another visit!

  • Quick escape to an unexpected paradise.

We needed a quick get away to relax from a hectic month at the end of the summer... We got exactly what we wanted. The grounds were beautifully maintained. The room (suite) was spectacular. It was on the second floor and was huge with a sofa, 2 beds, jacuzzi, balcony, huge bathroom, and super comfortable bed. We enjoyed walking around the property, and loved the pool. Breakfast was great and dinner was also very good but was over priced in my opinion. Regardless enjoyable for the convenience and atmosphere. Not much to see near by but we took a drive to Bethlehem small quaint town nice for shopping and eating. I'm very excited to visit again. I couldn't ask for more!!

  • Quick Escape from NYC

by kbchau on 2017-12-26 10:47 am

Reserved a Garden Cottage for the weekend which was worth the value. The interior was well maintained and up to date. This is the largest rental which appears to be designed for couples. There is no kitchen area except for a small fridge, so it's more of a weekend getaway as opposed to your traditional long term cabin rental. A rollout bed can be provided upon request. There are convenience stores within a 5 mile radius since there isn't one onsite.

Unfortunately, the bedroom ceiling fan was covered with visible dust and dirt. We also didn't have stocked toilet paper when we ran out. We had to remind the front desk after returning from dinner which was a little irritating but the night manager was very apologetic and offered a bottle of champagne for the oversight.

I will surely come back once snow comes down to cover the grounds. Garden Cottages offer a a gas fireplace in the living room and one in the bedroom. The jacuzzi is tucked away in the bedroom corner which doesn't look "cheesy." We also got a chance to enjoy a wonderful menu breakfast (included in stay) in front of a fireplace in the dining area of the main building.

  • Wonderful Winter Wonderland!

Glasbern is a very special place, beautifully designed, completely peaceful, with stunning accommodations and just fantastic dining!

We stayed in one of the rustic cottages and loved the room, over sized tub and fireplace. We loved breakfast and the Glasbern chicken we had for dinner.

We heard of Glasbern from friends and can now happily spread the word of this distinctive wonderful hotel.

This is a hotel you MUST visit. We will be back!
