In addition to the 550 private acres for relaxing strolls or exploring, the hotel offers a fitness center, indoor swimming pool, two outdoor swimming pools, hot tub, waterslide (seasonal), children’s programs, florist services, art gallery, tea and cookies daily at 4:00 p.m. in the lobby, and monthly culinary classes. The hotel boasts 36 holes of championship golf, FootGolf, and "The Experience" - the golf practice facility. "The Experience" features private lessons (swing, putting, short game), junior clinics, league clinics, club fitting, skills challenges, and more.
For outdoor enthusiasts, there are ten lighted tennis courts available, as well as private or group lessons, and a tennis shop. The Robert Trent Jones Golf Course offers 36 challenging holes, as well as a "The Experience" - the golf practice facility, putting green, and a pro shop. Sand volleyball, horseshoes, croquet, and cycling are also available.
Guests are encouraged to explore Mobile Bay, either by jet ski, kayak, or Hobie Cat (sailboats). For fishing, bamboo poles and bait are available at the Pier and duck food can be found at the concierge desk in the lobby.
For complete relaxation, The Spa at the Grand Hotel offers a variety of treatments and services, including body scrubs, body wraps, facials, massage, manicures/pedicures, waxing, full service salon, and quiet rooms. Light fare is available. Appointments are required.
The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa offers classes at the Beverage Academy (Friday at 5:30 p.m.) and the Culinary Academy (Saturday at 10:00 a.m.). The beverage team will hold a one-hour demonstration of beverage basics, while incorporating advanced techniques. For the culinary class, a chef will hold a two-hour cooking demonstration of basic and advanced techniques. The hands-on experience will include recipes, sampling, and a diploma. Each class is offered once per month, space is limited, and participants must be over 21 years old to attend the Beverage Academy, unless otherwise noted.
