There are many things to do in La Jolla. Within walking distance or a short 5- to 10-minute drive from the hotel are some of San Diego’s famous visitor attractions.

Right outside the front door is downtown La Jolla, California, an attraction unto itself. Exploring La Jolla can consume the better part of any vacation, but the sightseeing doesn't end there. Within 30-40 minutes are dozens of sights and attractions, ranging from whale-watching ocean excursions to trips south of the border to Tijuana, Mexico.

Transportation

San Diego International Airport is 15 miles south of La Jolla. Amtrak serves the Solana Beach train station, just 20 miles north of La Jolla. San Diego city transit buses stop in La Jolla (see www.sdcommute.com for more information).

Driving Directions

From the International Airport: Take Harbor Drive to Grape Street. Turn left on Grape Street to Interstate 5 North. Take 5 North to the La Jolla Parkway exit. La Jolla Parkway becomes Torrey Pines Road. Stay on Torrey Pines Road and then turn right on Prospect Place. Prospect Place becomes Prospect Street. Follow Prospect Street to the right, into La Jolla Village. The Grande Colonial is on the right-hand side of the street at 910 Prospect Street.
