  • Dinner at Hassayampa

by tvogue on 2018-07-10 08:44 am

Looked forward to having dinner at this establishment, as had been told it was one of few fine dining establishments in Prescott.
    What a disappointment that was!
We were invited by friends who were celebrating a Wedding Anniversary, so was to be a joyous occasion.
I ordered the Flounder, which was stuffed with Crab and to my disappointment, the Flounder was VERY DRY, the rice side dish, was dry and tasteless, plus the saut?ed fresh vegetable side, was limp, over cooked and tasteless!
My wife had the boneless Trout and was very disenchanted with her choice as well.
The other couple ordered the Salmon and the Lamb Shank.
Their comments of their choices were, the Salmon was very dry and obviously over cooked and the Lamb Shank was Okay.
The service was okay at best, for this occasion!

  • Historic Hotel.....itâs wonderful

by davefoshee on 2018-07-09 12:19 am

We live in the area but, on occasion, decide that finding parking during a big downtown event is such a hassle....we choose to spend the night here. It is a beautiful place, filled with polished wood and a grand staircase. The rooms may pale in comparison to more upscale hotels in big cities, but seem to suit Prescott very well....."charming" is an overworked term, but seems perfect for this place. The food in the hotel is good, as is the service....however, the bar isn't the best place to find a drink in town. And if you tire of the menu at the hotel, just cross the street to Prescott Station where the bar is much more lively and they have some great ribs !

  • Historic hotel in historic community

    by paulakh2017 on 2018-07-09 09:58 am

Prescott is a relatively small territorial capital of Arizona. The Hassyampa is on the main street going through town so many of the historic sites are right there. The hotel has a beautiful lobby, a pretty good restaurant and we enjoyed some great musical entertainment at the bar in the evening.

The room we had was not too small, but the bathroom was tiny...barely room to turn around. We had a corner room with a comfortable bed. The AC was pretty loud but didn't seem to bother to much. We were on the 4th floor and the elevator is the original from 1927 so it requires an operator. If you don't want to use the steps on occasion, you should stay on floor 2, which is actually the ground level.

We had a good experience. It is pretty expensive and I think our stay of two nights is about right. It wouldn't be great for kids I wouldn't think since there is no pool or recreation area.

Left iPad - Devon secured and returned.
Front desk very helpful with suggestions on restaurants. Lounge bar was terrific and drinks were delicious!!
I felt like we were in the 1920s!!
    Room great. Clean, spacious.

  • "Loved this Hotel!"

by alamedafrances on 2018-07-01 010:16 pm

We spent two nights here in June. Came here for the ambience, stayed for the comfort. If you want to relax, this place is it! You park your car Friday afternoon and won't go back to it until you leave on Sunday! This hotel is close to everything! Restaurants, shopping, sightseeing and concerts in the park across the street.

Interesting hotel with it iconic decor and history. Rooms are actually spacious for being an old hotel. You can always stay in a hotel chain, but why would you if you have the opportunity to stay in a Prescott landmark?
