  • people and room were great.. but...

    by Kim W on 2018-06-21 06:16 am

let me begin by saying the people and the entire village is great. everything is so convenient. you don't ever need to leave.
    1. people : we stayed in the ali'i tower. the front desk staff was so nice...
    2. room: we stayed in the ali'i tower. it was nice. private concierge and pool. having this is nice because the place is huge. problem: the only mirror in the hotel room was in the bathroom.. hard for 2 people to get ready at the same time while giving the other person privacy.
3: village: this was great. so many restaurants and shops. stop at the abc store and stock up.. much much cheaper than hotel prices. example: sunscreen at hotel $22.83, sunscreen at abc was half that price. ate at benihana: this was really good. ate at frescos too.
4: pools.. these seemed a little run down... I think a little re-fresh is needed.
    5. Friday fireworks were so nice.
6: beach : not the best.. go down more towards outrigger.
    7. housekeeping : super !

  • Oh how I do miss this place

We stayed over at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki, since we had a conference... Although we were there to work, it was just amazing to see this place... It is like a city in a city; anything you need is right there. And if you want to swim, you can do that in the lagoon, pool or sea; whichever you prefer...I would love to be there right now... It was just amazing and the staff were very helpful and friendly ;-)

  • I Love the Hilton Hawaiian Village!

I have been here at least 20 times. The people here are always so friendly and do a great job of making me feel welcome and appreciated. Love the remodeled areas I have seen. AC in Rainbow tower has been upgraded too. Great place for kids too.

  • Disappointing

We live on Oahu so we stay at this hotel maybe once a year and this by far was the most disappointed we've been.
We were given the wrong room type and tower by the guy who checked us in. He was nice but seemed new. Later With 3 kids and 9 bags we had to move rooms to the room type and tower that was on our reservation. What a hassle!! Then my husband discovered he left his wedding ring in the original room. We still had the key so we went back and housekeeping had already been there and the ring was gone!! There's no front desk option on the phone so I kept getting passed around. Lost and found said no one turned in a ring. We had to file a claim with security who came to our room and we had to fill out paperwork etc... then shortly after they called us and said housekeeping just turned the ring in. I'm sorry but there should be a policy that when a housekeeper finds a guests property they should have to call security immediately and security comes to the room and takes a picture of the property, records it on a log and takes the property to lost and found. I think it's ludacris that the housekeeper holds the property until they end their shift. Then someone has an "accident" in the pool and everyone has to get out. We just made our way over to another pool, so not a huge deal but just crazy how everything was going wrong this stay.

  • Pleasant but Crowded. Haole Central.

I usually refrain from writing negative reviews but this contains the good, as well as the ugly. As mentioned by others, check-in is lengthy. We lucked out when our valet allowed us to get into the Hilton Honors check-in line despite the fact that i booked the room through a 3rd party. Clerk claimed our initial room in the Kalia tower was not good & had no view so switched our room to Tapa tower at a charge of $21 per night. Upon later visiting the Starbucks in Kalia tower i think i would have preferred staying there as it was less crowded & hectic as the Tapa tower and has a quiet 4th floor pool that caters to mostly adults. Room was average but quiet. I've had better for less. TV signal kept going in & out. If you are familiar with Oahu & have no need to explore you certainly can stay within the confines of the "village" as it has anything you could possibly need. If I didn't have a 17 year old who needed to visit every skate park on the island, I would have been content to lay by the pools, lagoon and/or beach daily with a good book. Definitely a resort for families with younger children hence it can be quite crowded and loud. Self-parking is $43 a day and the resort fee is $40 a day. A beach umbrella & 2 lounge chairs for an afternoon came to $68 plus the $10 tip to the beach attendant who deal with a lot of nonsense from guests from what i witnessed. Not the most erudite of clientele & felt somewhat embarrassed at being part of the problem. Having stayed on Waikiki now several times the Hilton always appeared to me as an upscale and desirable destination. Now I can say I did it but would probably not return.
