  • Ali'i Tower is the way to go!

    by Sarah F on 2018-03-22 02:24 pm

We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village from March 2 - March 9 and specifically booked the Ali'i tower in a partial ocean view room. This tower is perfect for couples looking for a little more quiet and exclusivity! The pool deck is the best view for the Friday night fireworks but make sure you get down early to grab yourself a lounge. The rooms are comfortable but if you're really after that ocean view definitely spend the extra money rather than the partial ocean. The concierge at the Ali'i tower is a life saver especially if you're checking in any later than 8am as the queues can be massive and wait time's extreme at the general check in. The resort is huge with plenty of shopping and just a short walk to the main strip for more restaurant options. Most tours will pick you up and drop you off at the bus terminal. We loved it here and will definitely be back!

  • Back to Waikiki

This is a massive, sprawling hotel with I think four towers, though I'm not even 100% sure. We stayed in the Ali'i tower which is sort of like the nice tower I guess because you get a wristband that gets you discounts and the ability to cut in line at the hotel restaurants. The rooms were very nice and the amenities were some of the best that I have had in a hotel in a long time, though if you don't like coconut you might not think so. You have access to a tower exclusive pool which is nice, but small. The beach is nice and large...we were there during what I think was spring break and there was all kinds of room on the beach. Honolulu is a bit busy for me so I'm not sure if I would go back (it had been ten years) but if I did I certainly would stay here again.

  • Ok if you like this sort of thing

by StoneAcre on 2018-03-22 06:16 am

Monstrous property, multiple high-rise buildings, tons of people, loud, crowded and only average at almost everything. Our room was impersonal, almost clean, not nearly Hilton quality, but adequate for the large convention we were attending.
We would not go there for anything other than a meeting. Never found a good restaurant. All tourist trappy. Wannabe Disney.
Definitely make sure you are a Hilton Honors member before you go, the lines to check in were long and slow, but the Honors line was shorter.

  • First day and a partial review

    by S L on 2018-03-21 010:53 pm

First visit to Hawaii and excited. I booked a basic room and upon HH app check-in, I called for a possible upgrade, being a Diamond Member. Cheryl was very helpful and moved me to a one bedroom suite in the Diamond Head Tower. This room left much to be desired among other issues that I won't mention. I went back to the desk and Mary Ann was very attentive and concerned and moved me over into the Rainbow Tower for tomorrow. I must admit that I'm nervous, really hoping that my result is much better than today. When driving into the resort, it looks like you're heading into paradise all the shops and beauty but I'm hoping my next room models the the exterior aesthetics. Tomorrow may be better. That's another review and maybe I will know more about the resort to review.

  • First Hawaii visit

by retiredgrandma on 2018-03-21 11:28 am

Visiting Hawaii completed our travel to all fifty states. The location is excellent. Our check in was smooth. We were given a room in the Rainbow Tower which is so iconic and had a wonderful balcony. But as we wanted a king, not two fulls, we asked for a different room for the next three nights. They were very accommodating and moved us to the Diamond Head Tower. That was a lovely room which we enjoyed. All of the public areas were nicely appointed and well kept. We only ate once in the restaurants because they were rather pricey. We moved off the premises to eat. We enjoyed walking on Waikiki Beach. Our only complaint was that whenever we went to the Tours and Travel desks we were pushed to listen to a time share presentation.
