  • Tale of Two Rooms

    I made our reservation in months in advance, and our friends followed suit the next day. We get this wonderful suite, they get a room with a king bed crowded into a small room that smelled STRONGLY of stale beer. They come to up to our room for a drink--and are blown away. Most people would have immediately checked out, given this treatment--and because they didn't, and sucked it up, that they looked to be the bigger people. Given their treatment, you wouldn't expect us to hang out there and remind them. Take this as a warning--the range of quality of rooms in this hotel is enormous--and I believe we paid the same rate.

    So we love the Hilton checkin on their app. Straight tot he room, using your phone blue tooth key card. Super slick. Rooms clean, and nice. Didn't like the fact that we put a Do Not Disturb on the door, only to find they had been in our room.

    Short walk to Bourbon St. and access to French Quarter. Lots of taxis, and Uber available.

    That's it!

    I attended a conference in New Orleans and this served as our host hotel. The rooms were clean; prompt and knowledgeable staff at the front desk; helpful and polite valet and bag service; all around great experience.

  • Terrible customer service & cleanliness

    Upon arrival the front desk crew were not very friendly nor did they appear to even want to be at work. We got to our room and realized at a very inopportune time that they did not refill the toilet paper and left no extra rolls in the room for us to refill on our own. Fast forward to later in the evening, went to take a shower and the shower was barely a trickle, not enough to even rinse the shampoo out of your hair. Also, extremely hot water that took approximately 15-20 mins to get cool. I just thought I couldnt figure out the shower. Then we went to lay down on the bed & realized the sheets had not be changed from the last guest, gross! So very unsanitary. We stayed 7 nights, not sure why other than the pains of moving hotels is such a burden. Each day was something, 3 days we had to call & ask them to clean our room because at 6 pm it still wasnt done. We got literally no towels one day. No coffee or coffee cups another day. No clean glasses or a bag in the ice bucket another day. Trash no picked up another day. And if you have to call the front desk or guest services be prepared to have the phone ring & ring approx 30 times before anyone will pick up. The room itself was nice if you can get past all of the mishaps along the way. Definitely not worth the price we paid for a week stay. Very disappointed.

    This hotel has a great location for anyone wanting to be close to the French Quarter. Many things to do are within reasonable walking distance and the street car comes right down the street that the hotel is on.
