  • Perfect location for NU.

    Have loved the Orrington since I was a student at NU. It is unfortunate that they did not acknowledge me as a Hilton Honors guest and I believe that the price for two beds it too high for the location on a non-football, non-move-in weekend.

  • The lobby is nice

    I stayed here while visiting a local business. The best part is the staff, uniformly friendly and helpful.

    The room was hotel nondescript, and included a chair and ottoman. A small fridge was tucked into the cabinet under the TV. Wifi was fast and reliable, and the air conditioning wasn't too noisy.

    The bed and pillows were comfortable enough. There's no bedspread or duvet - just a sheet and very thin blanket. If you like to snuggle under the covers, you'll be disappointed.

    The big fail in this room was the bathroom. It was tucked into a corner and tiny, with only a small pedestal sink and no countertop space for toiletries. Worse, there was a floor tile missing and multiple black spots on the tub where the porcelain had chipped away - not at all worthy of a Hilton, and bad enough to cost the review a star.

    As an HHonors Gold member I received a complimentary breakfast buffet, with a very good variety of both hot and cold options.

As General Manager of the hotel I greatly appreciate those individuals that share not only the good aspects of their stay, but also those areas in which we did not meet their expectations. Being that the hotel was built in 1923 one of our biggest challenges is both the room and bathroom sizes of some of our guest areas. We are also in the process of addressing some of our guest room bathrooms as well as upgrading some of our HVAC units.   • Conference

    Plenty of conference rooms and the main ballroom was very large. The room we stayed in was average for such a lofty price. The hotel only had valet parking. Perhaps the biggest down side is that the hotel is not easy to get to, takes some time after exiting the freeway.

  • Great hotel in great location

    My son and I stayed here when visiting colleges in the area. The hotel room was clean, comfortable and spacious for two people. We did not eat in the hotel but found great places in the neighborhood (e.g., Clarkes, Le Peep, Blaze pizza and the Celtic Knot) There are lots of helpful places in the welcoming and friendly college Evanston neighborhood (CVS, Target, Barnes and Noble), and the area is quite lovely. The hotel is right across from Northwestern and an easy and pleasant drive from downtown Chicago, Loyola, DePaul etc. The valet parking worked well and you pay per day no matter how many times you come and go, The valet staff were very professional and we never waited more than 10 minutes for the car. Andy and the valet team were great, as was Chrsty at the front desk. We highly recommend the hotel.

  • Great property with great amenities.

    This property was very well located with everything you would want within walking distances. There were restaurants, movie theaters, the train, shopping, Northwestern University and a beach all within 3 blocks of the hotel.
