  • Beuautiful, Historic Hotel , Not so great restaurant

    This unique hotel, located in Downtown St. Louis has beautiful rooms, flooring, and lighting. Old vault doors were the entryway to the business center and to the snack area.
    The restaurant that is part of the hotel was disappointing in that the quality of the food was average at best and certainly not worth the price. The service, however, was perfect!!!

    Parking is either valet or you can park yourself, but it is across the street. If you don't know this ahead of time, it can be quite confusing as to where you will park.

    The business center is ok. Nothing special. There is a bar in this hotel also.

    There is also a fitness center and a pool.

    Besides the historic relevance, the best feature of this hotel is that it is within walking distance of the Gateway Arch and the Old Courthouse.

    I absolutely love this place! After having one of the WORST hotel experiences at the City Place (right across the street from the Hilton), I went over to the Hilton. From the doorman to the clean and comfy rooms, I enjoyed my stay there. The staff was extremely professional and helpful. The beds were clean and soooo comfortable! I almost didn't want to check out when I had to leave to return home! I will visit STL again and will be staying at this Hilton!

  • Don't let the lobby fool you

    Don't know where to start. We arrived for a weekend wedding celebration. I had ordered two rooms from a third party service (which is a whole other story, never doing that again) which they only had one of the rooms. I was awestruck at how beautiful the lobby of the hotel was and were were excited to see our rooms. My daughter and her husband also had a room at this hotel. On first glance the room was satisfactory, everything neatly in its place. My husband and son in law went to the brewery tour and daughter had rehearsal. I sat in the room for a while reading. Looking around now, the carpet was absolutely filthy, there was used dental floss on the floor among other pieces of whatever (clearly not vacuumed) My daughters bed had so much hair in it, it appeared an ape had a play date and their bathroom floor as well. Their bed had been remade, even the room service person made a comment on how much hair there was.
    I went to the lobby to read my book and grab a beverage. The sofa by the front windows had terrible stains, I was shocked! We purchased the rooms with the breakfast included, it was a great breakfast, ordered a few Bloody Mary's, big mistake. Terrible, but I must say the waitress was concerned why we didn't drink them and gave us a coupon to use later at the bar.
    My husband was shaving in the bathroom and looked into the mirror, called me in and said look down into the mirror at the toilet, not sure if I should go on........poop on the side of the toilet where the handle is, almost threw up. No time to call the front desk as we were leaving for the wedding and I was not going to have anyone in our room while we were gone.
    As other reviewers had mentioned we too had trouble with our key for the garage, why can't this be ironed out, so inconvenient. Sorry but we won't be back, look somewhere else in St Louis.

  • So great

    I stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip. It was a great hotel. The front desk people were so nice and helpful. Room service lady was so friendly. Breakfast buffet had a great variety of foods available. I had a late dinner and ordered room service. The food was wonderful. Within walking distance to the arch. Just great overall

  • My stay by the Arches

    Very good value, great location and wonderful staff. Easy access to some very good places in the City and very close to the expressways. Each of the staff members I had contact with was very friendly and helpful.
