  • Classic hotel

    Staying in the hotel gaves you a really high class feelings as it is truly classic and the architecture of the hotel is over 100 years old. It is still in very good maintenance and upkeep. Go for breakfast in the Green Room as the English dining settings is truly an experience.

  • Grand hotel in the heart of Wilmington

    I have great memories of this hotel as it is the first hotel I stayed at by myself in college while on a job interview at Dupont in 1983, my wedding night and 10th anniversary and recently for a weekend getaway. It is still old school, grand. Beautiful iron work in the lobby. Grand entrance, bell hop etc. Our premium room had a large bathroom tiled in marble with soaking tub and shower. Large area to sit and apply cosmetics. The room had a full size sofa and king bed. The mini bar frig is filled with expensive snacks and drinks. There is no coffee service in the room but they offer complimentary coffee in the lobby. Only major negative was the obnoxious yelling in the hallway at 1:00am and 3:00am following a hotel wedding I would presume. Disappointing since I specifically asked for quiet room away from the elevator. Our room was the closest to the elevator.

  • Old world elegance

    Excellent experience.

    Bed and breakfast package afforded us a huge breakfast in the beautiful Green Room. The high painted ceiling, gorgeous draperies, large windows all make for an elegant setting for dining.

    Grand hallways, huge comfortable rooms, quietude and welcoming staff.

  • Lied to by staff at the front door.

    Our family pulled up to valet park.
    (Infant child with all the gear and an 100% disabled veteran).
    We were told that there was no room available in the valet parking lot. At that point we were directed to go park in a local public parking garage a few blocks away. We were depending on valet in fact we called to assure it be available.
    Need less to say we missed the beginning of our event . (Just drove over 3 hours to get to.).
    Strange thing, as we walked back to the hotel dupont the same valets were parking cars for the other guests of the hotel.
    When we asked why? Their response was they were DIRECTED by their supervisors not to park the people in the military.
    Can you say appalling!

    Thank you for providing this feedback and we must sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding since the National Guard, who organized the event had specifically negotiated Free Parking at an alternative facility for all participants of the event. At no point would we ever prevent any guest from using our valet parking and especially in the case of an individual that may need additional assistance.
    Please accept our deepest apologies for this experience.

  • Very Nice!!

    The Hotel du Pont met all needs:
    - service was exceptional. Hats off to Muhhamad- he answered all questions patiently on phone and saw that every need was met
    -meeting facilities were handled very well
    -rooms were very clean
    -large rooms
    -very comfortable bed

    Only possible opportunity:
    -rooms were a little outdated. This could be just a matter of preference.
    I would highly recommend the Hotel du Pont
