  • A great couple getaway!

    I found the place to be super elegant and romantic. In addition, there is a club in the basement (P.S) Great location and staff. An overall great experience! My girlfriend has a terrific time and certainly, we will be back!

    I am used to being welcomed by last name upon check-in. I check-in online prior to arrival, however I requested a room upgrade upon a arrival at the front desk. The gentleman at the front desk checked the computer, asked me if I would mind not being on the original floor as my reservation, I said no. When he gave me the room keys to the new room, it was the same room style (King Extended) as I have originally booked. He had changed nothing. When I returned to the front desk, he proceeded to tell me that my original room was a standard, I told him that I could produce the original email from months earlier that demonstrate that I had in fact booked the King Extended room. If there was an error it occurred through the online room check-in process that placed me and my daughters in a standard room. He had not noted that error when I requested an upgrade and left me with the impression that I would be moved to a room larger than the King Extended room. Additionally, when I asked for another form of upgrade, possibly breakfast, again no accommodation was provided. I had traveled with both daughters to the hotel and inquired if they would provide an extra complimentary breakfast for three instead of the standard two persons. Nothing. I valet parked my BMW on the first night. When I came to travel with the girls and the car the next day, I had left my car tag in the room. I provided my room number and full description of the vehicle, when I returned to the front desk five minutes later all the staff had done was gather the car keys, I was told that they needed to confirm that the keys were mine. Once the car arrived, the heat had not been turned on and the car doors were not unlocked for the children. Needless to say, I chose to park my car somewhere else for the rest of my stay. Room was not serviced until 5pm on the day 2 of our stay and I was laying down in bed when housekeeping attempted the service; towels and wash clothes were left. We did not receive the requested 5:45AM wake-up call on Saturday during our stay either.

    Fabulous Historic Hotel downtown ... you have to appreciate antiques to get the value of this experience ... actual rooms are updated decor and comfort -- large and spacious corner room with lots of windows. Lobby, hallways and gathering spaces all take you back in time. It's not the hustle and bustle of a new establishment which is refreshing ... staff was friendly and accommodating -- gave great restaurant recommendations. The on-site Italian restaurant lunch menu was awesome.

    Beautiful hotel but the room cleanliness needed some attention, the banquet service wasn't great, the food was so-so, and I had an absolutely horrible experience with the valet parking service. Not a great set-up for conferences.

    To start the hotel was beautiful and the location was very desirable. On check in I tried to clarify the rate and room, and was told there was nothing they could do but to stop back in the morning and talk to the accounting person. In the morning I went and asked for the girl who I was told to talk too, and was cut off several times by an extremely rude British woman (I did not get her name). after trying several times to explain what I was asking and getting cut off mid sentence I gave up and wished I had listened to the reviews about the staff. My wife and I went about celebrating her Birthday and decided it was better to just take it up the tailpipe and enjoy our weekend than waste another minute with a person who didn't have any interest in listening or trying to resolve the issue.
