  • Nice hotel and great service, lots of homeless outside

by Salesarchitect on 2018-06-22 04:59 pm

I was only staying for one night in San Fran and the hotel was great. It was a beautiful heritage hotel, check in was great and the room was comfy, was just what I needed.
The location is very good and convenient above one of the BART stations and close to everything on market street but the homeless problem is rather confronting for travellers. I didn't have any problems but it would feel uneasy for a single traveller, especially at night time. This isn't the hotels fault, the place is nice and the staff were helpful.
One minor thing, the hot water pressure in the showers are a bit low and takes a while to heat up. Be patient, it does come through eventually.

  • Great service!

We stayed here during Pride week. Burney at the front desk was great and waived our early check in fee when we arrived sooner than anticipated. The hotel is clean and beautiful. Really great location as well.

  • Great place to stay - awesome location and service!

What a great place to stay! Everything is lovely! The location is especially perfect for exploring the many exciting sights to see in San Francisco. Also, the hotel manager, Kazi, was so friendly as he helped me with early check-in!

  • Would not recommend

    by Mick L on 2018-06-21 011:09 pm

Booked this hotel due to proximity to downtown but not having to pay an arm and a leg.

    Pro:
    - pricing is cheaper than some
    - historic hotel if you like that stuff
    - very helpful and friendly staff

    Cons:
    - historic hotel with everything old. The hallways even smell old
    - internet is very spotty
    - bad neighborhood. Lots of homeless around. Either you take taxi, Lyft/Uber or public transit. Otherwise scary outside
    - lighting throughout hotel needs improvment. Hallways and rooms a very dark.

Due mainly to the location, poor wifi (we changed rooms due to poor wifi, still not good) and dated furnishings, would not recommend
