  • You have to be a Frank Lloyd Wright freak...

    by tvvvv2016 on 2017-11-22 12:57 am

to not only visit the Price Tower, but also stay there.
I did both, and though the building is quite extraordinary and fun to see, the room itself is odd and interesting, but
not altogether that comfortable. The decor is sort of post modern, and semi-comfortable, but the drapes have to be closed during the day as the sun can shine directly into the room.
The tour of Price Tower basically takes you into the owner's suite which again is interesting if you're a lover of all things Frank, but the tour guide wasn't that knowledgable or seemingly that interested in making the experience compelling. That said, I'm glad I did it as it's one of the few chances you'll ever get to actually stay in a FLW building.

  • Bucket List Trip

I've always been a fan of FLW architecture and have been meaning to stay at this hotel for years. It is a beautiful building and the rooms were fantastic. We stayed in one of the suites which was on 2 levels, with 2 bathrooms. It would be a perfect place to have a small 60s-inspired cocktail party. In fact we booked the larger suite for next year. The Copper Bar was very small, but really cozy. We sat at the bar, and standing next to us was the harmonica player of the band booked for the evening. We loved every minute and can't wait to go back!

  • Quirky but cool

by MetroEastTraveler on 2017-11-14 05:20 am

The room was a nice size. The elevators were small, but ran regularly. The restaurant was quirky, being in three rooms. The food was decent. It was nice to have some views of the city around. I liked going out to the upper outdoor deck and looking out and seeing the Frank Lloyd design closer up from the top.

The breakfast was decent. My major complaint was that their needed to be a second sterno where the bacon, eggs, and french toast were. The french toast was cool because it was not directly under the sterno, although still tasty. Also, it would have been nice to also have eggs. But again, it was nice to have it available in the morning and it was good.

We had a younger child so we did not partake on the tour. We did check out the art museum which was nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay in a cool quirky place.

  • Quirky but comfortable!

Why stay at a chain hotel, when you can stay in a historic landmark?

This was our second time to visit. Elevators are small and odd, but rooms are generous in size, comfortable beds and decor has a unique Frank Lloyd Wright twist. I'd recommend the experience. Breakfast is offered in room rate and is adequate. Room is not like most chain motel rooms but that is to be expected. I recommend giving it a try!

  • Birthday Trip

    by Teri S on 2017-10-20 010:15 pm

We went to Bartlesville for a weekend birthday trip. We stayed at PriceTower because we admire Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture and we had always wanted to stay there. We stayed in a room with a king sized bed and the room's furnishings were unique. But, I was very disappointed in the overall lack of cleanliness and "run-down" feel to the hotel. It needs a good scrubbing from top to bottom. The tile grout in the bathroom is dirty and the windows in the room are filthy. Its been awhile since they've seen Windex, if ever. Even the outside entry is dirty and run down. The rooms are very small. I don't think a large person could fit in the shower or maybe not even through the bathroom door. The elevators are just large enough for 2 people and a suitcase. The evening clerk was ok but not really helpful. When asked for a restaurant recommendation, he acted perplexed as if he had never been asked that before. I'm glad I finally got to stay at the PriceTower but would not go back nor would I recommend it. It's way over-priced and definitely not a "luxury" hotel as advertised.
