Lake Yellowstone Hotel & Cabins
1889-1891 – Lake Yellowstone Hotel is built as part of a series of hotels to accommodate visitors to Yellowstone National Park. It was built on a site known as a meeting place for Native American Indians, trappers, and mountain men.
1903 – Robert Reamer, architect of the Old Faithful Inn, re-designs and expands the hotel under the supervision of R.R. Cummins of the Northern Pacific Railroad.
1922-23 – Additional extensions added to the East side of the building.
1928 – A two-story West wing was added, which expanded the dining room. In addition, a solarium was added in the front of the building.
1979-1989 – Extensive renovation was completed to restore the hotel back to its 1920s grandeur.
