Lake Yellowstone Hotel & Cabins
Lake Yellowstone Hotel, a member of Historic Hotels of America since 2012, was completed in 1891 as part of a series of hotels to accommodate visitors to Yellowstone National Park. Beginning in 1903, it was re-designed and expanded by architect Robert Reamer. His design included a clapboarded Colonial Revival structure and three porticoes that overlook the lake.
The entire hotel was extensively renovated and restored to its 1920s grandeur with completion of the renovations in 1989. Hotel guestrooms capture the historic ambiance, while an adjacent annex and nearby cabins provide more basic and economical options. The building’s classic white columns accenting the yellow exterior of the hotel create a vision that stands apart from the surrounding forest and meadows.
Lake Yellowstone Hotel features a gift shop filled with gifts and collectables, Native American jewelry, apparel, select furniture items, and fine gifts. Guests can also enjoy fine dining at a casually elegant restaurant featuring the park’s most upscale menu, or stop for a quick bite to eat at the Lake Hotel Deli. The serenity of Yellowstone Lake illuminates through the "Sun Room" windows of this majestic hotel, as guests daydream to the delicate sounds of a string quartet in the lobby and enjoy a beverage from the nearby bar service.
Lake Yellowstone Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and typically opens from mid-May through late September or early October annually. Beginning in the fall of 2013, renovations of the guestrooms and public spaces will begin in two phases. The hotel will remain open during the renovations.
Lake Yellowstone Hotel and Cabins is located in Yellowstone National Park.
