  • Eclectic Hotel, Close to Downtown and F&M, Helpful Staff

    by Cape_Girl61 on 2017-12-05 05:04 pm

The Lancaster Arts Hotel is in a renovated tobacco warehouse. With exposed brick, original art displayed all over the hotel, a sketch pad in every room, guests' sketches displayed in the elevator and chocolates and a rose at turn down, you know that you're not staying in a chain hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom wasn't large, but it was well designed. I loved the glass enclosed shower.

The staff really works hard to make you comfortable. We asked for a refrigerator to be brought to the room. It was delivered within minutes. A light was out and the maintenance person was there in a flash.

The location is walking distance to downtown and Franklin & Marshall College. A continental breakfast buffet is included. I enjoyed the oatmeal with mix ins and toast with local pear butter. Leave your key at the front desk and they give you a pass to the YMCA across the street.

Definitely eat in the restaurant. It's not open for lunch, but I recommend it for dinner or just sitting at the bar and ordering one of the small plates. The food is locally sourced and mostly organic. The menu changes according to what is available. It's a great restaurant that happens to be in a hotel. Not your typical hotel restaurant.

All in all, a very enjoyable weekend at a great little hotel in a city that has been called "the new Brooklyn".

  • Great Way to Start the Holidays

This is our favorite hotel in Lancaster! The rooms are beautiful and quiet. The staff is helpful from the moment you walk in the door. It makes for a perfect match...you relax in a lovely room after a long day of holiday shopping. Definitely a must stay!

  • Except for the elevator.

This is a really lovely, originally styled hotel. Our room was enormous, with a gorgeous, comfortable, hand carved wood bed and soaring ceilings. The staff was friendly. The restaurant on site was outstanding. If I could pick on anything, it would be the slow elevator that made scary sounds and the lack of attention to keeping the tables in the front lounge area cleared of multitudes of discarded glasses from the bar, where we waited for a table. Overall, we loved the place and would absolutely stay here again.

  • Fantastic Stay

My second trip to Lancaster and this time we tried a hotel outside of the "chains". Very clean and beautiful rooms, very comfortable bed, enough space for business needs or for a weekend getaway. Staff provide chocolate and a rose at night. Continental breakfast provided and great staff focused on ensuring your stay is worry free.

  • Comfortable boutique hotel

A newly renovated tobacco warehouse. Had the fourth floor suit which included a well appointed living room with desk, refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot, large bathroom and bedroom with king bed enrobed in high thread count linens and jacuzzi tub. The bar and restaurant had fresh sheet menus and good service. A highlight experience was using the free bicycles to ride around lovely downtown Lancaster, Franklin and Marshall College campus and surrounding neighborhoods. Staff were friendly and competent.
