  • a beautiful old hotel, convenient to Seattle attractions

by sandylindy on 2017-11-19 06:54 am

My friend and I shared a two double bed suite that was perfect for one early riser and one who stayed up at night. It was a bargain for meeting our needs so perfectly! Beautifully appointed, comfortable, and quiet. Walking distance to many places to shop, the Monorail, and the light rail to the airport. Friendly and helpful staff. Will return!

  • Clean, quiet, and great service.

I liked the historic aspects of the hotel. Sure the bathroom was snug and the wallpaper dated, but to me that was part of the charm. The shower water was hot, I had ample plugs throughout the room for my devices, and great service throughout my 5 night stay. Plus, the location put me within walking distance of everything and except for taking the rail to/from CTAC, I used no other form of transportation than walking & the ferry. I would not hesitate to stay here again. My only complaint was the price of the oatmeal and coffee when ordered through Room Service. That was a real gouge!

  • Beautiful, iconic hotel - excellent service!

Old world hotel, impeccably kept and upgraded appropriately. Staff was pleasant, professional but not stuffy. Rooms are on the small side which is expected for an historic hotel but very well appointed.

  • Very disappointing! The pictures make it look much nice than it is and it is run down

So disappointed to arrive and find the hotel does not look at all like the beautiful pictures on trip advisor and other sites. It does not have the beautiful furniture shown in the lobby and the entrance is just okay. The room we stayed in was so outdated and in need of repair. The wall paper was peeling off the wall and there was mold in the tile. I was not impressed at all. Walls are thin and you can hear the people next door. It should be listed as a 3 star hotel or lower. I can't understand why it gets such good reviews. There are other hotels right near it that I wish we had booked instead. I am thinking they gave us an old room since we didn't book directly with the hotel and got it at a discount. Either way, I would not stay here again!

  • Historic hotel close to everything

    by Delia53 on 2017-11-12 05:06 am

We booked this hotel for its proximity to the Seattle Art Museum. Our first impressions were positive- the friendly receptionist had our room ready and shared directions to the Symphony and added a map. Our room has two double beds plus two bathrooms!! Yes, two bathrooms, so we two sisters for the first time traveling together don't have to dance around each other for sink space. The closet space is generous as well and it is quiet at night. The Mayflower Park is also around the corner from the Nordstrom flagship store, and within blocks of Pikes Place Market as well as the Symphony Hall. Andaluca restaurant is downstairs and the Olive Bar in the lobby is a cozy place for a Baileys and coffee after the concert. I highly recommend this as a home when visiting Seattle.

    Delia53,

Ah, the two bathrooms. Always a plus for our ladies traveling together! We are very pleased to hear that you had an excellent stay with us and found our location accommodating. As we celebrate 90 years here in Seattle, it is these type of reviews that keep us going and our staff providing the excellent service they have always had. Thank you again and we hope to see you again the next time you are in Seattle.

    Best Wishes,
