Newport has long been a playground for the rich and famous with its gracious mansions lining the Cliff Walk overlooking Newport Beach. The great hurricane of 1938 wiped out the area’s hotels, and in 1940, a gracious gambrel-style inn opened overlooking Newport Beach. In 2008, after a multi-million-dollar renovation, this historic hotel reopened its doors, retaining its historic New England seaside charm. An all-suites addition with rooms ranging from 600 to 1,300 sq. ft. is situated next to the original historic hotel. An indoor pool and whirlpool, rooftop hot tub and fire pit, exercise room, and spa services were added, all with panoramic water views.
