    The Hotel was amazing, very clean, modern and had a luxury feel. I would give it 5 stars if management and accounting dept was organized. I prepaid for my room on the hotels website. A one night stay for $264, which processed immediately on my credit card. When we checked into the hotel, we had to have an additional card for incidentals, standard at all hotels. I asked the clerk if this was for a room charge or just the $50 for room incidentals. He stated that the room has already been covered and only a $50 hold would be on my card. Well, after the weekend, the $50 charge dropped off, however my debit card was now charged for an additional $284(Room + tax for the night) I called the manager and said that he would check into it. I had to continue to call and email all week to get any kind of answer. He then sent me to the billing dept. The manager of acct. said that he could not find two charges for the room. I then sent him both my credit card statement and my visa checking to show that NOPSI Hotel had taken money from both accounts. Still to this day, I have NOT BEEN REFUNDED or Even Offered A complimentary stay!! So I PAID $548 for a one night stay at the NOPSI in a Standard Room. Too many Hotel Options in New Orleans to get ignored by management.

    Unacceptable, unprofessional behavior.

    1. Couldn't get into room because I "wasn't on the reservation."
    2. Person let into room who wasn't on the reservation.
    3. Unreliable housekeeping.
    4. Double-charged for entire stay... WHEN I WASN'T EVEN ON THE RESERVATION.

    So, to begin... My friend PREPAID with her card for a room for us to share, but requested that my name be added to the reservation since I would arrive in NOLA hours before her. There's a whole email trail to prove they agreed, had my name spelled correctly, etc. I arrived, and they're like "who are you?" I'm tired. I've been traveling. I need to shower, but no. I can't get into the room until hours later when my friend lands and gets it sorted from her Uber. I "check us in" using my card for incidentals, saying they'd only put a $50 hold on my card if we charged something to the room (we didn't).

    My friend arrives three hours later, but basically gets into our room about 15 minutes after I do. Once she's there, she tells me a pretty funny story. Her bf and his friends had another room, and even though he never put them on the reservation at all, they gave them keys! I had documentation and couldn't get into my room, and they, complete strangers for all the hotel knows, just waltzed into theirs! A huge security issue!

    The room itself was nice enough, and so was the pool; however, the pool bar closed at random times despite having "official posted hours." The bartenders were rude, as was most of the hotel staff (except for the doormen, who were delightful). Our room was only cleaned half the days of our stay.

    Housekeeping didn't replenish the toiletries when they did clean the room, and with two women, we obviously ran out of shampoo. When we called the front desk, around 10pm, they said they'd run out! At 11pm they came with a bag (and I mean garbage bag) full of.... lotion? Because that helps. So both my friend and I showered without washing our hair, only to have housekeeping show up again at 2AM IN THE MORNING, banging on the door, with one bottle of shampoo that I guess they found. Not only was it late, but it was LATE.

    And now the worst part, to top it all off: Remember when I wasn't even on the reservation? Yeah, they charged my credit card on file "for a temporary hold" FOR THE ENTIRE STAY. After my friend HAD ALREADY PREPAID. They got their $$$ before we even stepped in the door, and then double charged a completely different credit card with a completely different name. Yeah, no. You can deal with my credit card company thanks.

    I'm giving them two stars instead of one because the doormen were so incredibly nice. The nicest I've ever met. They should all get bonuses.

    And some additional minor points:
    Doormen: SO NICE! I LOVED THEM!
    Housekeeping: Good job cleaning WHEN they cleaned (but didn't restock soaps)
    Pool: Small but really nice, great view
    Bars: Rude, closed for no reason
    Food: Great
    Bed: Comfortable
    Bathroom: Awesome
    Noise level: LOUD but it's not the soundproofing. It's the crazy loud fan/vent.
    Location: GREAT
    Overall cleanliness: GREAT

  • Mixed Bag

    Let me start by saying, the hotel is beautifully appointed and decorated. I live in Houston but was home in New Orleans recently for a visit and enjoyed the rooftop bar so much, I decided to have my girl's trip weekend here in December. In addition to the rooftop bar, I chose this hotel because of management's reputation for excellence but was slightly disappointed by a few Misses. The Positives : As stated previously, the hotel is beautiful and in a great location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The Misses : little touches that added up. I rented two rooms.....one of which I believed was a handicapped room (I didn't request that) but one room had a tissue box and one didn't. There wasn't an extra roll of toilet paper in the same room that didn't have a box of tissue. We walked into one room and the temperature was normal upon arrival. We walked in to the second room and the temperature was set down to 59 degrees. It took hours for the room to warm up once the air stopped running, making it very uncomfortable. The worst part of the stay was the service for brunch on Sunday in the restaurant. My reservation was at 11 30 for 9 people. There were not a lot of people when we sat down so I am not sure why the service was so slow. We asked for biscuits before the meal. They came out cold and were served with rock hard butter which couldn't be spread on the biscuits. We asked for it to be softened and after bringing it back to us hard, we were informed that there was no microwave and that the server had tried to put it in the warmer.....still rock hard and cold. That made no sense. Then, it took a really long time to bring out the entrees. Other than the biscuits, the food was actually good but the long wait was disappointing. I must admit that I was kind of upset that a 20% gratuity was automatically added. I don't mind paying for service, but the level of service should match the gratuity set forth. The staff (hotel and restaurant) was nice but didn't give it that extra oomph I've come to expect from Luxury Hotels. They were accommodating, but not overly so. The one standout was Mariah who helped us both on the rooftop bar, as well as on Sunday at Brunch. I think she sensed that our server might have been overwhelmed and just tried to pitch in. All in all, we had a great time but the hotel experience was just less than I expected.

    Stayed here for our 10th Anniversary trip and it was lovely, from the public spaces to the rooms to the service. Front desk sent up a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries when they found out it was our anniversary. Staff were very helpful and rooms were spacious and very clean and nice. Rooftop bar was great! NOPSI is fairly new but they are trying to do things the right way, and have lots of special events to introduce the public to their Hotel. Good job!

  • Great Find in New Orleans

    From the moment the bellmen (Byron and Marvin) helped us with our bags to the great reception at the front desk from Makeala, we were off to a delightful week long experience at the newly established NOPSI Hotel. The lobby is grand with the history of the building meshed with the great vibe of an exciting place to meet friends, generate some business and just feel good about where you are. The Gin Bar in the main lobby is nice however, the home run is the Whiskey Bar. Super friendly and knowledgable staff (Taylor is great) made our first to our last experiences most enjoyable. We were sad to leave. We had breakfast several times and felt satisfied with food and service. Our room was spacious, clean, well designed, quiet, well serviced and just darn nice. The rooftop pool/bar was a delight...great views, nice vibe and service that is working on improving service. Our concierge, Darlene, was a breath of fresh air every time we chatted with her. Very helpful and WARM. Ms. Mary from the gift shop was also a delight and Quentin at the front desk was very professional. You cannot go wrong when selecting the NOPSI for your next stay in New Orleans. A great find that we will use again and again!
