  • Perfect end to a perfect vacation...

    by Jakob S on 2018-02-21 12:42 am

Stayed at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa for 3 nights with family and friends. Absolute luxury but still a nice and relaxing place. They have a pool area and lots of luxurious treats for adults, but that does not mean that there is nothing for kids - they have their own pool area of equally high quality. Properly one of the nicest places I have visited - and I have been visiting a lot of nice places all over the globe. I can only give Ojai Valley Inn and Spa my best recommendations. The perfect end stop, if you plan to take the family around California.

  • Zero charm, very corporate feeling, not worth the money

    by heathert653 on 2018-02-21 09:16 am

My fiance and I went for the mid week escape and we won't be returning. The hotel is massive, very corporate feeling, sits on a huge golf course, and has absolutely no style. We didn't save any money, because the taxes add up to the same cost of a regular room, plus the 25 dollar a night parking... why?? If 400 a night isn't enough already. Let us self-park as a complimentary service! They gave us a promised room upgrade, but it only had a fire place as the difference, and a basic patio that had a view of a bare roof with no chairs to sit on. The room was as boring as a Marriot situated near an airport. The adult pool was incredibly loud with people on their phone, not respecting the no phone rule, so we moved to the quiet leisure pool by the spa and it's situated next to a massive roaring generator!!!! We then moved to the lap pool, and there was the loudest construction going on the golf course. So we moved back to the leisure pool and asked the spa desk to tell the women to get off their phones. Nothing was done, so we went back to the room so we could read in peace. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and eager to please, and the hotel does have beachcruiser bikes to ride into town which were very fun. We ate at two different Mexican restaurants in town and took the trolley around, but overall, the Ojai Valley Inn is such a dull place that lacks charm. If you're looking for a quiet weekend away, stay at the Belmond or San Ysidiro Ranch in Santa Barbara.

  • This is a rowdy place

by Sniveler on 2018-02-16 08:01 pm

Once you get away from the common areas there is peace and quiet. This is also a beautiful resort with great potential. However it is a fairly large and busy place: check-in and check out were painful; there were lines for staff, crowded valet areas and lots of noise, some wild kids, and at times when the staff seemed overwhelmed. I could see myself having a 5-star stay but I think they are understaffed and inexperienced.

  • Perfect girls weekend

My friends and I were looking for a non-Vegas venue to host a bachelorette party and the Ojai Valley Inn was perfect. The grounds of the resort were absolutely stunning. The spa is one of the best in the country. We each enjoyed our massages, but the showstopper was the Kuyam treatment, we had such an amazing experience and even enjoyed the private patio after the session. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the pre fixe dinner at the high end restaurant and each course was better than the last. We also loved the front desk women who gave us some tips on planning for a future Morocco trip! I hope to be back soon!

  • Lovely setting for a get away

by babsprinceton on 2018-02-10 02:23 am

I've always wanted to spend some time in the Ojai valley and the Ojai Valley Inn is the place to go. The service is warm and friendly, the rooms are lovely, the golf was challenging and there are free bikes to go exploring. We were lucky to enjoy warm weather and could also relax at one of the pools. We totally enjoyed our time here. Our only complaint was that we would have liked to use the spa for a steam or sauna, esp. after golf but there is a $75 daily fee. I understand they want a quiet environment for guests using treatment rooms, but this fee seems very high. Regardless, I would still recommend a stay here
