  • Wonderful Place to Stay in the Park!

    by Katherine M on 2017-10-20 01:01 pm

We stayed 3 nights at Old Faithful Inn. We booked a premium Queen room, and got a room that overlooked Old Faithful - which was unexpected. What a great view! The room was small, outdated and the bathroom could have used a good scrubbing. it's an old building and except for a cleaner bathroom - I'm not sure things could have been improved. The bed was comfortable. No TV, no wifi and limited cell reception - like most of the park. Staff was friendly and helpful. Every evening there was a cello/piano player in the lobby. Comfortably chairs to sit and listen and relax from the day of hiking. Great place to unwind.

  • Historic Lodge

Stayed at the Old Faithful Inn while on a Trafalager bus trip to Yellowstone. Loved the uniqueness of this old historic Inn. It's right beside Old Faithful so you have an opportunity to see her several times a day. Also very nice boardwalk to some of the other geysers beside the Inn. Even have buffalo coming right up to the property of the Inn. The restaurant had a wonderful buffet supper and enjoyed the buffet breakfast also. Just a warning that there is no TV at the hotel so be sure to bring a book, some games to play or just relax by the fireplace and visit with others who are staying at the Inn. A great way to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the Inn and Yellowstone. We also attended some of the ranger programs that are next door in the visitors center auditorium. Very interesting programs on the Fires of Yellowstone and the geography of the area.

  • Unique Rustic Setting with Wild Game Choices in the Bear Pit

    by MariaP1779DE on 2017-10-16 06:18 am

After viewing the Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone National Park on the second floor, my friends and I went to the Bear Pit for wild game chili and bison bratwurst. We enjoyed a specialty drink of cucumber gin and tonic which was a refreshing twist on the classic drink while admiring the sandblasted glass panels separating the dining room and current Old Faithful Inn Tavern. The delicious food came quickly despite the restaurant being full around noon. Next time I would stay in this rustic old house originally built in 1904. There is a Bear Paw deli around the corner for those who do not want to wait for food and a gift shop on first floor.

  • Memorable and enjoyable

Very interesting historical venue which is very appealing and with plenty of character and atmosphere. Great location near the geysers and our accommodation was clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner in the dining room most enjoyable and we have fond memories of our overnight stay.

  • Great Location

    by Carla B on 2017-10-14 03:53 pm

The location and the lobby of this Inn are excellent. The geyser basin, including Old Faithful, are close by and easy to access. The lobby is inviting and a cozy place to spend the evening and enjoy the ambience and the music. The rooms are ok but nothing great. However I found the service to be lacking. They were very stingy with the fires in the big central fireplace and it was quite cold when we were there. Our room was not serviced 2 days of our stay and a bath mat was not left initially. When we checked out, roads were closed in the park but nothing was posted to let us know nor did the checkout staff alert us to this fact. Since cell service is very spotty, we had no other way of knowing that we would not be able to get through to our destination since a portion of the road was closed. Be aware that the food in all of the restaurants we tried was very poor and expensive. Still a good place to stay if you know what to expect due to the location.
