We were here for a dance convention for my niece. Arrival was understandably chaotic, but they were not equipped to handle the influx - they did not have enough luggage carts, we were told it we would need to wait 15-20 minutes out front. When a woman rudely took our long-awaited cart out of my hands, JAMISON, one of the bell hops with a wonderful demeanor, compassion and customer service arrived and made all things right. Jamison was outstanding!

Once inside, DAVID at the front desk stole our hearts with his doting on our bday girl - so much so that she offered him one of her roses which he tucked in his lapel. He took care of all of our needs and made that 7-year old feel very special! David even sent her a sweet birthday surprise up to our room that night. David and Jamison will be what I choose to remember about our stay.

Our room was fine, with just minor complaints, like closet light not working, dead bugs in the shower which we quickly washed down the drain, and a toilet that didn't flush well. We got overpriced food from room service that was mediocre twice, ate off-site after that. The Beatles and historic memorabilia was fun, and the location is convenient. The lobby and flowers inside were beautiful. I imagine the outside grounds and pool are nice in the warmer months.

I was very glad we did not bring the car in as the only parking offered was valet at $50/day! ?

  • Weekend at the Omni

This is a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of DC. Love the location. Ideal for family sightseeing. Our room was spacious with large closet and two queen beds. Everything was perfect except the restaurants and bar.

  • Large rooms but otherwise not worth the money

Positives: The rooms were very large. We had a premier room on the 8th floor, which had a walk-in closet that could have served a as a kid's bedroom, and a separate dressing area in front of the bathroom. The floor space beside the two queen beds could have fit a pull-out couch. The room had a nice little balcony with a view of the Washington Monument. The hotel overall is very pretty. The Woodley Park metro is a quick walk from the Hotel. Negatives: You have to pay $10/night extra for a refrigerator, which I wasn't aware of until checking in, and there were none available. The room does have a cooler, so we kept our lunches cold with using ice from the ice machine. You also have to pay $15/night for a microwave, which wasn't worth it to us even though I had brought food to microwave for breakfasts. The valet service has a convenient texting option for pick up, but neither the texting nor the phone number were in service while we were there, and you don't know this until you try to text or call. We had a child staying in the room, who was on the reservation, and was looking forward to the kids' club packet and milk and cookies. It took several requests to get those delivered to her. Not a big deal but it was expected so the service was disappointing. Robert's Restaurant: The restaurant was only about half-full and there was just one group in front of us, but it took 15 minutes to get seated. After being seated, someone filled our water and then no one returned to take drink or food orders. After another 15 minutes of waiting, we gave up and left. The bathrooms are tiny. The tiny sink is part of the tiny bathroom, so only one person can really be getting ready in the morning at a time. To summarize - for such a large, pretty hotel, I expected better service and amenities. I would stay somewhere else next time to get more value for my money.

  • Omni Stay

Very beautiful hotel. To think that Presidents, royalty, VIP foreigners, actors and actresses once walked the same halls as me made me feel special. Service in every area was impeccable. Definitely an upscale establishment. I would stay there again but be better financially prepared for the expense especially the valet parking. Very pricey!

  • NOT Satisfied!

We stayed here for an event and will not return. Not only could they not handle the influx of guests, the rooms and service was terrible. I requested a microwave and refrigerator far in advance and was told I would have them both in our room. The first night I was told that they ran out of refrigerators but that they would send up the microwave. It never came nor did they get back to me about a fridge. The room was BOILING! We couldn't get the unit to work and found out that other guests had the same issue. Wifi nor parking is included. I was shocked that parking is $52/day! The restaurant and snack shop was incredibly over priced and limited.

I would never stay here again. This is the first time the event we attended used this hotel and if they use it again we will not be staying there. Thankfully there are other options nearby!
