  • Relaxing home-away-from-home

Second visit to this Inn. Love the spa tubs on the balconies ! The rooms are comfy and cozy and each has it's own unique decor. The guest robes are really a nice amenity. Grounds are beautiful for walking through, or just enjoying from your room's view.

Perfect location for a getaway or business meeting. Old Paso charm with all the great amenities. Walk to wherever as it is surrounded by great restaurants and stores. The grounds are so charming and beautiful.

  • Third times a killer

    by cdriver657 on 2018-02-19 04:13 pm

We went down last weekend on impulse from the Bay Area. Third time we've stayed. Each time we've hoped for a better experience due to the history, quaint historical Town square, and the emerging food and craft beer scene. Check in hostess gave us the check-in spiel,... by rote. Zero personality. Room faced the gas station next door, a local bar and a fake water feature garden. First thing we were reminded of was the sulfur smell of the water. The place is built on a sulfur spring. Rotten-egg-o-rama. After a pleasant tour around the Square we went upstairs to the bar. Noticed that the dining room downstairs has been completely redone since our last stay as the "Steakhouse". Hmm. The bar upstairs is virtually unchanged since our first visit in 2003 except for the addition of several TV's, thank god. Bartenders were all professional, efficient, personable and mostly...unsmiling. Bad overhead lighting, terrible card-table seating and the continued over-serving of the locals. Every time we've been here the patio is choked with people the staff knows, that keep getting louder and more boisterous with every round. Shots on shots. A woman literally fell into the room from the patio drunk-laughing and the staff just looked the other way. Come on. Drinks for us however, were MEASURED! Wine country and they can't trust a drop over-pour! We checked about getting a table downstairs in the dining room but by 6:30 we were out of luck. So were ordered at the bar. Due to diet restrictions we split an entree, passed on the added split charge for the extra side dish serving ($7.00!) and anticipated our modest but smart and healthy servings. Our plates arrived promptly but it came all wrong. Wrong entree, wrong sides. I called foul and the one bartender blamed the other. The prime rib we received was nearly raw. Inedible. We had ordered the rib eye, medium. We said chuck it, not worth the wait, trouble or confusion. Now on to the first appearance, we're all good. Then, things are slightly askew. The aforementioned smell...the water pressure...the water that smells...the after hour rowdiness from the bar next door (which sounds like its great place to get hammered). I get it but not no more. Cash me out.

  • Annual Paso Trip

    by Robert N on 2018-02-19 06:32 am

Great location, center of town. The 2 rooms they offer is very large. Could do with an upgrade to the comfort of the bed but we managed to sleep okay. Staff was friendly and were able to answer and offer to our needs.

  • Very nice if you can get a good deal

    by Shaun T on 2018-02-18 03:57 pm

Excellent location in central Paso. Very clean and comfortable room. Nice hot tub and pool which I used several times. Room had a gas fireplace which added a romantic touch. The room was a bit cramped, though. And we got a great last minute deal, but I understand the normal prices are high. Overall recommend.
