  • Lovely lobby, but small and noisy rooms

    by annapolisgal526 on 2017-08-15 12:53 am

As a preface: We like to stay in historic properties, and on this 12 day trip to Montana we stayed in four National-Register-listed historic properties. This was the most expensive, and the least comfortable. Knowing that the Sacajawea is a historic hotel, we expected some "non-modern" features. What we did not expect was a room on the third floor and no elevator ( this is not the case in other Historic properties). The front desk clerk was very nice and was able to switch us to a room on the first floor, which, unfortunately for us, sat right atop the basement bar, which was jumping with live music until midnight. The hotel supplied earplugs and a white noise machine, which did little to mask the noise and nothing to dilute the vibrations. The room was TINY - smaller than any we stayed in anywhere. Bath amenities were very nice. My advice: have a drink at the bar, enjoy the lobby, and stay elsewhere.

  • Super Cute

    by Michelle H on 2017-08-12 04:08 pm

First time coming to a hotel and getting a saige scented cold tier to clean my face and hands. After just coming from the caverns, this was a nice treat as we were hit and dusty. The sparkling cider was also a nice treat.

The hotel is in great condition and the paintings were beautiful. The king bed room with pullout coach was nice and big. Loved the big bathroom. The pullout bed wasn't the best so our 11year old climbed in bed with us which was big enough for the three of us. Enjoyed the bathrobes as well. I liked the decor of the room, especially the bathroom. It was chic.

We are at the restaurant below and the food was good. Good price and our server was super nice and attentive. The chicken wings were huge! Biggest I've ever seen and super good. As was the mac and cheese with bacon. Yummy!!

The property was well maintained and all the staff was lovely. We enjoyed the free breakfast brought to our room. Food was good except my husband and I both ordered the hard boiled egg and both thought it tasted different, perhaps a couple days old. I ate it and suffered from it later. Literally having really bad gas ALL DAY long. The yogurt and granola was a nice touch though. I don't think the Oj should have been one of the three things we were allowed to each order though, especially if you're not a coffee or tea drinker. I enjoyed the complimentary waters though.

  • Love, Love, Love this place !

by Bizzaboo on 2017-08-09 04:49 pm

After a long trip on the road from East Glacier we were greeted with champagne, Lavender scented wash cloths, cookies, and a friendly welcome from the front desk.
    What a wonderful first impression!
Stayed in the Lewis & Clark (2 Queen Beds)
Rooms are a bit smaller then the norm but the 4 of us had no problem adjusting.
Bathroom was nice, felt newly remodeled had all the amenities you would need!
The bed was so heavenly comfortable, one of the best beds I had ever slept on!
Because we got in about 8:00 PM on a Saturday night the dining room was somewhat booked up so we settled in downstairs at the Pub bar and had a great meal and drinks.
After dinner we sat on the front porch, played a game of Yahtzee all while listening to the live band playing in the bar downstairs, what a great end to a beautiful summer day!
Our room was not hot because we had a air conditioner in it that was working fine.
After that great night of sleep we all woke up to a terrific coffee bar around the corner of our room and eventually had our complimentary continental breakfast on the front porch!
We all adored this hotel and will be talking about it to friends & family!
Guys... Very romantic place, Hint, Hint!
Perfect location 21 miles from Bozeman Airport if your heading to Yellowstone Or Glacier

  • Nice place to stay

by Oscarbentley on 2017-08-02 11:59 am

Beautiful old hotel and the people working there are very friendly. A lot of special touches for guests. Had a glass of free champagne when we checked in and two chocolates in our room. Dinner is very good but kind of expensive. They will bring breakfast to the room in the morning if you fill out a card the night before but the choices weren't that great. Coffee, tea and chocolate in the landing was a very nice touch for the moring.

  • No bed for third person and room very hot, so we didn't stay

    by Westerner443 on 2017-07-31 09:38 pm

Despite having our reservation for about two weeks, they had not put a rollaway in the room when we arrived about 8:30 p.m. on a hot July night. The room was on the top floor on the west side and was closed up, so it was sweltering. We turned on the small window A/C and called the desk about the lack of a bed for every guest and the overbearing heat. We huddled by the A/C as we waited for the bed. After about 20 minutes, we decided they had forgotten about us, and that room wouldn't cool off all night, so we went back down the two flights of stairs with our luggage. The desk clerk was busy checking in more guests, so I had to wait a while to tell her we couldn't stay. But they did keep the $304 we paid for a room that was unusable. A week earlier we stayed at the Broken Spur, and it was just fine at less than half the price. And we had a ground floor room.
