  • Absolutely and totally beautiful and fabulous! What a treasure to find in little Three Forks, Montana! A total gem!

by SpokaneWashington on 2017-06-24 02:05 pm

I did not even know about this Hotel until I stayed at La Fonda in Santa Fe, New Mexico and read in their book that the Sacajawea Inn was a Historic Site, as well as La Fonda in Santa Fe was. Therefore, I decided to stay at the Sacajawea Inn in Three Forks on my way home to Spokane, and I couldn't have been more pleased!! What a gorgeous inn! Old world trappings, old Victorian Inn and rooms. You can sit on the veranda with a glass of champagne if you wish (compliments of the Inn). This place is well taken care of and it shows. The staff is excellent and will help you with anything that you need. No, there is no elevator, but if you need help with your luggage in getting to the third floor, the staff is there in an instant to help you. I was on the second floor and did not request help, but they asked me anyway!! How much more helpful can you get than that! I told them that I was leaving early the next day and they offered to help me with my luggage (note that there is no 24/7 staff, but the day personnel were there by 5:00 am and ably helped me with my check out; they even knew that I was checking out early because of their incredible communication).! Will I stay here again? You better believe it. Would I recommend this to anyone? Again, you better believe it!

  • Bass Music and Terrible Service

    by U4179KPmichaels on 2017-06-09 09:20 pm

I write this review from the hotel. It is my wife and I's anniversary. We like history, so we thought we'd give this place a chance. While there is some interesting history, it is unfortunately greatly overshadowed by the remainder of the atmosphere. Right now in our second story room, there is constant thud of bass music reverberating from the basement bar below. The front desk just informed me that we can look forward to this fine ambiance until the wee hours of the morning. What is more historic than bass music and drunk people singing karaoke? Prior to this, we decided to have dinner in their "fancy" restaurant. We arrived for our 7pm reservation, were seated, and promptly waited for 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging our existence. Waitresses streamed passed us repeatedly without ever stopping to even let us know they'd be with us in just a minute. So we got up and left. I told the hostess we were leaving, and instead of apologizing, she made excuses, became snarky, and said our someone was ready to serve us now. We were not about to give them our business after that. Nobody in their right mind would pay $150+ for a dinner with lackluster service. Please learn from our mistake. Do not come here unless you're really looking to relive your college days in an old hotel that you'll pay too much for.

    Mike,

Firstly thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it as we are always looking to improve. I apologize that you felt our historic building got lost in the entertainment we provide to our patrons downstairs. It is a challenge to run a bar & hotel in the same building built in a time when soundproofing was not yet a concept. It is for this reason we make all our guests aware of the live music on Friday & Saturday in the confirmation email that is sent after booking. Our records show you were sent one let me know if this is an error. Either way I apologize the atmosphere wasn't to your liking. I invite you to come back & visit us again as my guest perhaps during the week or on Sunday for the historic ambiance. Thank you for accepting the generous gift certificate offer from our dining room manager. I'm so glad she was able to make contact with you to rectify the situation. I only wish we could have done so the night of your reservation.

  • Great Stay

    by Jim H on 2017-06-09 10:37 am

Worth the stay. Old hotel nicely restore. Great food at their restaurant. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy of assess of I-90. In a very small town people for a large city may find it interesting.

  • Historic Lodging in Three Forks

by hikersfromVA on 2017-05-24 11:22 am

This is a lovely hotel which has been beautifully restored. The large front porch is a great place to relax. We stayed in room 309, a pet-friendly room. The room was very small and dark. The one window was located above eye-level, so we could only see the sky. There was a nice desk, but when it was in use, it blocked access to the the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was large and very nice. The hotel offers a complementary breakfast that is delivered to your room. While the room was small, there are several sitting areas throughout the hotel.

    HikersfromVA,

Thank you for this lovely review we appreciate the feedback, one of the challenges in a historic hotel is the room size of older buildings is often much smaller. However, we do have a larger Charbonneau Suite I'd recommend for your next visit. Thank you again for the review & noting that we are indeed pet friendly in select rooms.
