  • From beginnig to end... amazing!

    We were welcomed with a toast of champagne... Never experienced that at a hotel, and after a long day of traveling, it was exactly what I needed! I had dinner in the restaurant, very good, great menu and extensive wine list. When I returned to my room, I was pleased to find cookies and water by the bed (which was easily the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on!) Lastly I awoke to expect a standard

  • Fail to Maintain Their Rooms

    My wife and I recently stay at the Inn for a wedding and had a blast at the reception and thought the venue was perfect for their special day. We were having an amazing time until the event ended and it came time to return to our room. My wife decided to take a bath as we finally had a weekend away from our two young boys. However, the hot water knob did not work. The knob continuously spun without producing warm, hot or even tepid water. We called the front desk and they sent someone to our room promptly. His response though, "yeah there's nothing we can do about it right now. sorry." He then left the room as quickly as he arrived. Trying to please my wife, I played with the hot water and found that i turned the knob while pushing as hard as I could, I could get "warmer" water. She was happy and got ready for her bath.That is until she realized that we could not plug tub and it continuously drained. Needless to say after about 45 mins, she went to bed annoyed and not relaxed like she had hoped. As she got into bed though, we went to turn the TV to find the remote did not work. Thinking it was just a battery issue, I pulled batteries out of one of my own devices only to discover the remote still did not work. Before we could find anything else wrong with our room, we just went to bed frustrated and annoyed that this was how our night ended.

    The next morning we woke up and I brought our issues to the attention of the front desk. I advised the concierge that I was incredibly disappointed due to the amount of money we spent on the room and we do not feel relaxed heading home to our boys. I asked if there was anything that could be done, and told them they should not put another guest in that room until the issues were addressed. All the concierge said was he was "sorry":

    To sum everything up, we had a blast at the wedding but we attribute that more to the hours of planning the bride and groom put into the event and not to the hotel itself. While the facilities were beautiful, the amenities were sub par and the staff was less than helpful. We will not be returning, nor will we recommend this hotel to anyone in the future.

  • Lovely Village Inn

    This is a lovely property. Rooms in the new Grand Building are stunning and the facilities include a small gym and pool. The inn is just off the highway so can be slightly noisy in the older part of the building. Good option for dining ; tavern, wine bar, terrace and fine dining. Team in fine dining very obliging but could do with some classical training.

  • Good wedding venue, not much else there

    We went to a wedding that was held here (and stayed overnight). Not sure what the relationship is between the Village Inn and The Grand at the Village Inn, but for the sake of brevity, we stayed at The Grand which was very pleasant. Large, clean rooms, with nice amenities. Not a particularly large hotel but more than enough space for our group. Meal options are limited and the location is somewhat out-of-the-way but it was a nice stay.

    As for a wedding venue, it really was very nicely done. The meal itself was not remarkable (which is about on par for a banquet size meal), but the facility itself handled our group very well. Can't speak to the planning and how they were to work with, but we felt like things were efficient and well run..

    The event was for aprox 60 people. The bar staff were quick and appropriately friendly. Drinks were well made. There was a bit of a lag in regards to restocking the table of appetizers and during passed appetizers they did not seem to get around to everyone. However! The food was Amazing! Filet mignon was tender and had great flavor. The sides were not an afterthought, they were well cooked and seasoned. Salmon was moist and seasoned expertly as well. I would take the steak over the fish if you have to choose. The creme brulee was creamy and sweet and the crunchy sugar top was delightful. I could have enjoyed five more.
