  • So sad

by angusclose on 2017-10-20 01:35 pm

This is the most stunning hotel, reeking history and architecturally splendid. Not one staff member has English as a first language, the carpet in our room was stained and the bath had enamel missing around the bath plug. There is no room service, so called buffet breakfast comes complete with plastic throw away bowls, plates, spoons, knives and forks. Try cutting a bagel with a plastic knife. So sad.

  • Simply excellent!

Great location in an historic area, safe area.

Quick check in, with the bonus of free breakfast when booked tbrough Expedia.

    Excellent spacious rooms.

Plenty of good bars/restaurants within reasonable walking distance.

  • Old, tired and broken

    by galaxygrrl2000 on 2017-10-17 06:17 pm

This is an old tired hotel. My room was unacceptable. The fan made so much noise I had to call the front desk to have them send engineering to turn it off. The bath tub was clogged and the fan in the bathroom was broken and made a horrible sound.

Room was tired and needed updated. This was so overpriced for what I got too. I would never stay here again.

  • Fantastic!

    by Andrew B on 2017-10-17 06:30 am

This is an older style hotel trying to uphold long standing traditions of customer service - & it succeeds! We were given a really warm welcome & provided with a helpful review of the hotel facilities. We had been allocated a room which was spotless but on the small side considering our bulky suitcases! The housekeeper suggested we request something a little larger & Q on reception was more than happy to change! Bingo! A room on the 8th floor, spacious & with a bathroom in which to luxuriate! Half an hour walk to the White House & the Memorials & just around the corner some great restaurants! A really pleasant place to stay in a truly wonderful city!!

  • Fabulous location!

    by Slender1 on 2017-10-16 12:14 am

We arrived and were pleasantly upgraded to a suite which was great as we had a child with us. The room did have a stale smell which dissipated with opening a window. There was a small fridge in the room so we had the option of purchasing breakfast items to eat in the room. Front staff and door staff were so friendly. 'Q' Always made sure the Kid had food before walking out the door.

The location is close to three museums: Anderson House, National Museum of American Jewish Military History, and the Original Art Gallery.

We are walkers so we walked to all the other locations we wanted to visit.

Close to the hotel we had lunch/dinner at the following places: Sweet Green, BGR (Burgers Grilled Right) Both were fabulous (especially since we have a requirement for gluten-free).
