  • Henley Park Hotel

    by Bill N P on 2017-12-16 01:06 pm

Our one-night visit was great. The building, at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and 10th Street, is a 1918 masterpiece, with gargoyles and vaulting and lovely tile-work. The lobby looks like it started life in a castle, and there's an elegant little room off to the right with a fireplace, afternoon tea, and (at this time of year) a holiday tree.

The building's exterior is festooned with carvings of the Tudor rose and portcullis that would make Lady Margaret Beaufort proud.

All in all, The Henley Park was a wonderful place to stay. It will henceforth be our hotel of choice when we go to Washington, DC.

  • Good food, not a big selection.

by gmatiti on 2017-12-13 01:26 pm

I had the pork chop which was delicious. The service was great also.

I am spending several nights at the hotel so I wish they had a bigger selection of dinners and beer.

The only light beer on the menu was BudLight. I would love to have had a Michelin Ultra or Miller Light.

Other than that it was great.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed our Delicious Pork Chop, and you mentioned that our beer selection was limited, however we have great wide variety of Light Beers and regular Beer selections! Just to name a few others,we have Stella, Blue Point , Troeg, Heineken, Devils Backbone, Goose Island IPA and many more.

  • Perfect for an alumni reunion or small group cocktail event in DC

    by Hugo S on 2017-12-08 05:32 am

Our alumni group had a smashing good time in the Blue Bar with the terrific BSQ jazz quartet at happy hour. David, Carlos and Mimi from the hotel F&B department took excellent care of our group of about 50. We had a couple nice platters of cheese and fruit, reasonably priced cocktails and wine and comfortable seating at the bar and in the lounge. I'd recommend this venue for elegant informal parties (either social or business) based on its decor, convenient downtown location, and professional/friendly staff. If BSQ is playing when you're there, it'll add a cool atmosphere to your event!!! Thank you Henley Park!

  • Youâd think you were in England

    by Ellen B on 2017-12-05 02:38 pm

My friend and I enjoyed the "Royal tea" after a day of sightseeing. From the Kir Royale to the delicious and very fresh tower of sandwiches, scones, truffles, small pastries and bowls of fresh berries, it was perfect -- and this from a former resident of Great Britain! Definitely a winner with extremely courteous staff. A lovely "find"!

  • Character-rich experience

    by Anton V on 2017-11-27 02:46 am

If you are expecting a sleek, brand new hotel, then this is not for you. The character of this hotel is the attraction. This is what to expect: an old English approach, art depicting fox hunts with hounds, english scones for tea, an antique lift with old knobs and polished brass, smallish rooms with marvellous old wooden furniture (including fine details), and friendly staff. If you want something a little bit more intimate and warm, do visit this hotel. I slept well, the bed was luxurious and the bathroom well appointed. A nice surprise was the filter coffee in my room since I am a bit of an addict. The cupboard was small but there was ample drawers for a week's stay.
