  • I Believe in Nashville

    by Denise K on 2017-10-17 07:15 am

Well situated, superb service and elegant. A must stay in Nashville where you can be central to everything. A beautiful hotel in a vibrant, warm and creative city. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The staff was attentive and professional.

  • Beautiful Hotel, Great Location!

    by SuzyQu15 on 2017-10-16 10:58 am

This was a "girlfriend's trip" to Nashville and we could not have selected a better hotel! This hotel is a property listed in Historic Hotels of America, built around 1910, with quite a history. The location is fantastic, near the music venues on Broadway, but far enough away for quiet. Two very good restaurants are a short walk away, and there is a good restaurant on premises. Our large room overlooked the Capitol, and the lovely grounds surrounding it. The room had two queen size beds, with very comfortable mattresses, lots of pillows and every possible amenity, including a nightlight in the bathroom. The bathroom also was huge, with a large tub and separate shower. Turn down service included the next day's weather forecast, excellent chocolate, and bottled water. Another nice touch was afternoon homemade cookies and lemonade in the beautiful lobby, and small bottles of water to take on the way out. The two concierges were excellent and helped us quite a bit with advice and reservations. My friend is a huge fan of the CMT show, "Nashville", so it was a real treat for her to find out that the show was filming in the hotel the next day! She got to see several of the stars and in fact even took a picture with one. This hotel was fabulous in every way, highly recommend!

  • Needs improvement

    by Scotty F on 2017-10-15 05:30 am

Nice size rooms, bit worn. Shower pressure weak. Housekeeping very good. Make sure your room is away from elevator. Fitness center small and worn.
Did not accommodate our room requests, and did nothing about it or followed up, standard poor excuse filled up to capacity. Did honor Amex benefits, but no room upgrade, filled to capacity. Benefits did apply to Mini Bar which was nice.
Very expensive for service and what they offer. Breakfast a disaster if they are busy. Bottle of champagne sent to room with lovely note.
Inconsistent friendly quality service for what you are paying throughout hotel.
Did not meet our expectations or our friends.

  • Great property

by edtealdi on 2017-10-14 010:48 pm

We stayed during a trip which covered seven cities across the American South, usually staying in the best hotel for each. This was the best of the best. What a property.

Location is central while not being too close to the madness. You can walk to Broadway but you're far enough from it.

The lobby is grand, opulently decorated, perfectly maintained. I'll remember it as one of the great hotel lobbies I've seen in my life, in the same league as the HK Pen, Singapore Raffles, or Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo. Spectacular.

The gym was small yet modern.

The restaurant was good, we only had breakfast which was tasty, efficient and great quality.

Our room was massive, tastefully decorated, and perfectly kitted out.

Service was impeccable, another league compared to all the hotels we stayed in during the same trip. It was, again, proper five stars, in the same league as the aforementioned.

Based on what I've seen, there is no other property in Nashville that even comes close.

  • Perfect for our first trip to Nashville!

    by julesj66 on 2017-10-11 08:14 am

We really enjoyed (and splurged) on our stay at the Hermitage Hotel. We were there for 5 nights. We did not have a car so I cannot comment on the parking. We found the location to be perfect, just off the beaten path of the more crowded Broadway area but close to everything. Service was warm, polite and very helpful (not that we asked for much). We enjoyed a drink in the Oak Bar on a late Sunday afternoon (we were very casual as we were still waiting to check in, but felt very comforatable there. When I was deciding on if we should stay here (my husband and I are in our early 50's, very casual etc) I wasn't sure if it would be too "fancy" for us, but we felt comfortable the entire time. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous (though somehow smaller than I picutred it) with the smell of fresh flowers at all times. Nice touch with the cold water bottles to grab on your way out and cookies & leomonade daily late in the afternoon.

We stayed in a king size room with a view of the Capital on the 3rd floor (room 316 I think). The only con I can mention (and we did when asked at checkout) was a chambermaid closet right across from our room even though I had asked for a quiet room. There was quite a bit of noise in and out of that closet beginning in the morning (though it seemed to get better toward the end of our stay, maybe someone else had complained).

If money isn't an option or for a special occasion, I would not hesistate to stay here again and recommend it.
