  • In the thick of the fun

    by kas823 on 2018-06-10 01:22 pm

I made a last minute reservation to stay at this historic (99 years old) hotel. I scored a very tiny room with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. In fairness this is one of the smallest rooms in the hotel. The bathroom was miniscule and not for a small person and it served my needs for toilet and shower. There is a wash basin tucked away in a corner of the room. Blessedly... no TV but there was one in the guest lounge down the hall. I never saw anyone in there (although it was a very nice space) probably because there is so much to do in Tucson. This is not however a quiet hotel... it is a happening place with a fabulous restaurant (The Cup Cafe), a couple of bars, and a nightclub. It is also surrounded by other clubs, theaters and restaurants. When checking in you sign a waiver about the noise, and earplugs are offered in the room. I did not mind the noise (Band playing when I went to sleep had a Santana vibe). I recommend this hotel as an experience!

I am so glad you enjoyed the Hotel Congress Experience! Yes, the noise is definitely part of the experience. I hope you visit us again for a nights stay, a great meal at the Cup Cafe or for a show at Club Congress. See you soon.

  • Wow!

    by Roxine B on 2018-06-02 07:50 am

Had lunch at the Hotel Congress and couldn't get enough of the place. Historical for the John Dillinger capture plus excellent meals. We took the Sun Lake Streetcar to downtown Tucson and saw the sights then got off near the Hotel and toured the hotel and had a drink and some lunch. If you're a history buff this is a must see in downtown Tucson.

  • Cocktails on the Patio

    by Christy V on 2018-06-01 12:20 am

My husband and I spent a lovely evening listening to a live band and shipping cocktails. We did not stay at this hotel but wanted to visit a bar after a day of driving and touring. The bar at the Historic Hotel Congress fit the bill. It was very pleasant sitting outside enjoying our drinks and music. We were pleasantly surprised!

  • Frat house

    by Julie E on 2018-05-27 07:21 am

This is not a hotel - it is a frat house. Deafening, hammering dance music, punctuated with obscenities, until 2 AM. sounded as if it were in our 2nd floor room. At midnight, tried to call the desk to find out the phone in the room is purely decorative. Woman in the hall is shouting, "Open the f-ing door!" to her child because she's having some kind of dust-up with the husband. My husband goes down to the desk to learn the noise will be going on until 2 and there's nothing anyone can do about it - also not interested in the shouting woman. The previous night we tried out the ear plugs the hotel provided but they didn't work and were not provided this night - nor was shampoo. Note that the bathroom in our room was so small you could not avoid banging into the wall or the toilet getting into the shower. And the decor featured Halloween posters of a hanging pig and meat cleavers. We should have never checked in, but the location is great, the cafe is good, and we didn't know it would be so awful.

    Hi Julie,

I am sorry to hear you did not have the best experience with us. We try to be as transparent as possible about our noise level at check in. While we cant do much about the noise please note that we can get security to immediately assess situations with guests upstairs. I hope next time you are in Tucson you find a hotel that better suits your needs.

  • Do NOT stay here on grad night EVER!

    by debpr0 on 2018-05-11 010:50 pm

When we checked into our hotel the desk mgr asked us to sign a form that we understood this was a 10 bar location i& in all out party mode until 2am. Wtf. He stated we should have been notified but we were not!! All hotels were booked in town & ours is a giant party until the wee hours. I thought...how bad could this be? Well, our room shook, the windows vibrated & there was NOT a TV in the room to even attempt to drown it out! Plus, not a bit of hot water for a shower!! I'm way to old & paid way too much for this! This is my Nightmare in Tucson.

The food in is fab though so eat here but don't sleep here!!

Thank you for offering your feedback regarding your visit. I am sorry to hear that you were unaware of the ambiance of Hotel Congress and the nightclub that we have. We try to make sure that everyone that books a reservation is fully aware of the noise levels and confirm that our hotel is the right place for them. I hope that you find a location that better suits your needs during your next visit to Tucson, and as you said, join us for a delicious meal!
