  • Over-the-Top Weekend

    This is our second stay at this hotel and first with the kids. As a result, we had a large double queen room in the northeast corner of the hotel: very clean nicely appointed, comfortable beds but very small bathroom. I guess this is to be expected in an 80+ year old hotel (they were happy to have indoor plumbing). Wifi is free and connectivity/speed was great.
    Service is top notch...kudos to the front desk staff that got us in to Trevi almost immediately upon check-in.
    Thanks to the beautiful "spring" weather in February, we didn't leave the property all weekend. Check out the sports complex for tennis, basketball, shuffleboard, etc. plus the wooded hiking trails. Hershey Gardens is a 5 minute walk.
    We patronized all restaurants on property (I think): Trevi 5, The Circular, Harvest, Iberian Lounge, Cocoa Beanery & Oasis (spa). No complaints about any of them, however, the buffet breakfast at the Circular is fantastic!
    One day at the Spa for some pampering and over-the-top service was like icing on the cake.
    All in all, a fantastic (albeit expensive) way to spend a birthday weekend.

    This hotel is the best. Could not be better in service. It is very kid friendly, but very nice as a couples destination, too. The food is fantastic. Obviously summer months offer more, but plenty to do and see in the winter, too. Highly recommend!

    We visited the weekend after Valentine's Day with my wife, 5-month old infant, and my parents-in-law. I want to give an accurate review, so I'll try to represent all our opinions. I'll start with mine. Our room was overpriced by 10-20%. The room was fairly small, the decor wasn't particularly attractive for a 4-star property, and the room was too noisy. We couldn't hear the guests in other rooms, thankfully, but we could hear everything in the hallway, almost as if there were no door at all. The Saturday morning after our first night's stay, we were woken by the service trucks outside. We stayed in room 114--so if you're staying on that wing, wear earplugs. I was glad we had a refrigerator in the room to keep milk for my son, but I was disappointed there was no microwave. We asked for a crib for our 5-month old son, and it was nice they could provide one, but it wasn't particularly adequate for an infant. The rails were very tall and the bed was very low--more appropriate for a toddler perhaps. It was very difficult getting my son in and out of the crib. If you're travelling with an older child who can stand, the crib was perfectly adequate--and to their credit, it matched the decor of the room. The mattress, sheets, and pillows were comfortable enough, but if you wake half dazed in the middle of the night either to comfort a crying baby or use the bathroom, be warned of the corner posts of the bed. They jut out just long and high enough to walk your shin right into them and leave you bruised a day or two. I'm glad I read on the website somewhere not to book a room before booking your spa treatment if that's the purpose for your visit. I wish the same had been true about the restaurant. We didn't get the day and time we wanted to eat in the Circular. I'm not sure if they offer preferred access to the facilities to hotel guests, but they should, given the cost of the room. In fact, there seemed to be no advantage to staying at the hotel at all. If I were to come to Hershey again, I would stay at another hotel, book the spa online, and book my reservation at the Circular on OpenTable. The Cocoa Beanery was a disappointment. We were hoping for a coffee shop/cafe type place to get a morning snack to bring back to the room. The coffee shop was attractive, the staff was nice, but it was a limited menu. I wish they had had hot sandwiches or more menu options. They were able to toast my not so tasty bagel, but they should have offered to put on the cream cheese. Instead, I struggled getting the packets open before having had much coffee. The bear claw was tasty. There. I'm done with all the criticisms, which I realize are nit-picky, but I have high expectations for a 4-star hotel as pricey as this one. Now, I'll mention the positives. The bell staff was very attentive and prompt. The public spaces in the hotel were attractive. The Iberian Lounge had good bar snacks and drinks. The Circular was attractive, good menu, and worth the price. The indoor pool was great for kids in the middle of winter, and my wife still swears that the spa is the best anywhere. She had a hot stone massage and loved it.

    We stayed here for 2 nights and thought the hotel was great. The staff was uniformly courteous and professional.Our room was very comfortable, large and well-appointed and the hotel had a very nice indoor pool.We ate in the Circular and Trevi restaurants and enjoyed them as well. It is a perfect winter getaway.

  • My favorite place to stay.

    I love staying at the Hotel Hershey. It is a pricey hotel, but I go to a conference each year and get a conference rate which is great! I also love that allow the conference rate extended three days before and/or after the conference dates. We always tack on a day or two.

    The hotel is gorgeous inside with all the modern amenities that you would want in a hotel. The restaurants are fantastic and there is a lot to do in Hershey.

    Just came home yesterday and looking forward to next year already!
