  • Well run, classic hotel

    by Mitchell B on 2017-12-04 06:39 am

The Hotel Northampton hits every mark for us; classic, original details, comfortable beds and balcony rooms.
Personally, I just am not comfortable staying in a hermetically sealed glass tower modern hotel; year-round, I enjoy a window that opens properly, and if possible, a balcony for fresh air. This hotel has large bright rooms with functioning windows. The staff is always pleasant, and the restaurants in the hotel, are better than average.
This is now our first choice when visiting the area, and Northampton, the town, is one of the most charming there is.

  • Wiggins Tavern - Cozy Spot for Drinks

    by Melissa S on 2017-11-28 05:28 am

I met some friends here for drinks and the Tavern was a perfect location. There is a couch and some chairs in front of the fireplace so it was super cozy. The bar wasn't too crowded so it was quiet which was perfect for conversation with old friends.

  • A hotel with personality in the heart of the city

    by Robert A on 2017-11-25 06:41 am

This is a charming old hotel that retains the personality of a grander time but with modern rooms that have up-to-date amenities. Our room had French doors opening onto a balcony, and although it was November, it was warm enough to sit outside in the morning and enjoy the view of the city and mountains beyond. The location can't be beat -- the hotel is right in the heart of Northampton and within walking distance of everything. The staff was courteous and attentive and didn't hesitate for a moment when we requested a late checkout. We will be returning to Northampton soon and look forward to staying here again.

  • Suite Stay

    by Jefsaw1 on 2017-11-24 11:52 am

A lovely old hotel with vintage brass accents in the elevator, mail drops, towel warmers...

Warm service and friendly staff. We had this view of Northampton center from our suite.

Only issue was with the Continental breakfast, inaccessible to us as there were no tables open and about 50 more people present than the room could reasonably hold. Bit of a zoo that day.

Still, great stay; hope to return.

  • Cozy and Walkable

    by skippie_8 on 2017-11-21 08:57 am

I read some of the less than positive reviews here before I booked this for some college tours. It was our best option in terms of location. I must say my daughter and I really enjoyed staying here. Could it be updated yes but it is very clean charming and comfortable and you just can't beat the location. It's not at all rundown and seems well maintained. Our room had two full size beds and was spacious. The Laura Ashley decor didn't bother us a bit in fact it was charming. There is ample parking and the staff was very friendly. We did not eat at restaurants outside of the continental breakfast. Can't complain because it was included but some protein options would have been appreciated. Had an impromptu singing session with some local musicians in the lobby one evening which was really nice. You can walk to many shops and restaurants in the cute New England town. There was a wedding at the hotel during our stay and it didn't bother us in the least. In fact it was nice to see the happy bride in the elevator! We wished her well. We would definitely stay here again.
